    calcified clay cat litter

I'm trying to get some clay base for my plants to grow in and came across people using calcified clay cat litter.
Unfortunately all references came from overseas and I cant seem to trace it in Australia.
Has anyone else used it,and if so can they recommend a brand that is safe to use? Also before someone says just get some from the garden where I live its all sand.

Laterite is a great iron rich clay that is fabulous as the bottom layer of planted tank substrates. If you do a search you MAY find the Qld vendor who sells by the kilo. I got some & it's top shelf gear, hand dug, seived, no impurities!

    Re: calcified clay cat litter

In woolies at kallangur they have cat litter which is pure attapulgite clay. I have successfully used it in planted tanks. It takes a day or 2 for the cloudiness to settle. And always wash it the best you can first, but I found it works and once cleared the water is crystal clear.

It is chandler pet litter, and it is in a red and orange bag.

    Hope this helps.
