1. So here's the updated photos. Plants in, and a few seachem root tab fertiliser pellets are in also (the pool filter sand is inert and offers no nutrients). I'll also be ordering some flourish as well, just because I really want these plants to have the best chance they can in such a deep tank. Would be keen to know, how would you stock this tank? Here's what I'm thinking: 150 cardinals 20 tril. corys Eventually 5-10 discus, all of one variation, ideally@ssdiscus 's blue scorpions if that's a possibility A few blue rams, again fingers crossed I can get some of Shaun's as they are top quality And here's where it gets tricky for me. This piece of wood is full of dozens of natural caves and tunnels, perfect for some kind of catfish/plecos. But I'm not sure which kind. I love peppermint bristlenose, but they're poo machines. I also would love a few whiptail catfish, but am equally keen on all the beautiful l numbers. So here's where I need some help. Would you put a colony of one l number strain and give them an opportunity to natural breed, a collection of various l number pairs/trios, or something different? Let me know! 2. Will be in touch on Monday! Would love to grab a quote from you guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. Time to get the ball rolling again. I have without a doubt done the absolute bare minimum to maintain this tank over the past year or so, and almost nothing has changed. But I'm finally ready to finish this project, so there will be updates coming very shortly. Plants have been purchased, lots of jungle val and some big melon swords and will be going in tonight. Next on the to do list is decide where to get the fish from. So if anyone knows a reliable source for 150 cardinal tetras please let me know!! Thanks guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4. Ahhh I see, so what's the solution? Just attach the image and accept ass quality :/
5. Also, can anyone help me out with the photo problem? Seems like you can't add photos via photobucket anymore or am I just missing something? :/
6. Hey guys, so I'm in a bit of a situation. Over the past few weeks the water has slowly become greener and greener. As soon as it started I turned all the lights off and tried to prevent things from getting worse, however I quickly realised that the baby angelfish where actually eating all the tiny microorganisms that seemed to be kicking about on the glass. Anyway, I left the tank not wanting to take away their food source. But now it's completely green despite the lights being off for almost 2 months now (there isn't a whole lot of direct natural light through either adjacent window either). Tried a 50% water change but no luck, back to green 3 days later. So where do I go from here? Is my only solution draining a whole heap of the water and introducing a whole bunch of plants to start soaking up the nutrients?
7. Plumbing all went fairly well, the fx6 is now hard plumbed into the tank via two bulkheads and it's all running pretty nicely. Don't have any photos of that just now but here are some of the fish. Caught that big guy hanging out in the afternoon sun a few weeks ago and had to grab a video.
8. HaydnRex Eventually ended up ditching the sump idea and opting for an fx6 instead! Plumbing it all up as we speak so I should have some nice progress/photos to show tonight. Funnily enough I've been breeding a pair of Angel 's black angelfish in there for the past 2 and a half months, so along with the two adults there's now 10 2-3cm babies and another 30 1.5cm ones.
9. Also after sponge filters + Anubias maybe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
10. They would be most likely talking about Gary Maher. He lives on my street haha. Look him up online and you'll find him pretty easily, makes some lovely tanks/cabinets Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
11. Have a look at Malaysian trumpet snails Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
12. So nice! Where did you get your plants from? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
13. Just name and shame, a bad buyer reputation should serve the same purpose? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
14. I'm currently setting up a similar tank, with discus also, and I'm leaning towards ditching the sump that I had ready to go and replacing it with an fx6. From what I've heard from various stores and people with experience a canister is just a lot less hassle, no chance of it leaking or overflowing, in general a lot quieter and while you can't hide your heaters/air stones in a canister I think overall for me at least they seem a better way to go. Best of luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
15. And to add to that any news on when you'll have them back in stock?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
