  7. i currently have a 4 x 39w T5HO but i dont want to buy another light fixture...i just want to replace the tubes with a "grow" led tube (if they exist)
  8. sorry to go off topic a little but is there a led bulb/tube that can fit into an existing 3 foot T5 HO light? does this tech even exist? i've found some but none that were "grow" lights.
  9. The tank is full of texas holey rock so its already difficult to manouvre nets around also since there are so many hiding places, i dont know where she sleeps. I found another possible solution...use dividers and block off a side of the tank but lift it a little. Then heard the cichlid in there then close it and net it...i think this time around ill just leave her in there. On another note when i came home today i saw two more craters have formed but no other cichlids holding yet...must be hanky panky season
  10. yeah i wasnt sure as im a first time cichlid owner i find that no matter how much reading you do, you will never know everything. edit: looks like all suggestions on catching a holding cichlid is to take out all my rocks... although there are some that say just to leave it in there
  11. woohoo! i was so excited when i saw her...now im googling around "how to catch a holding cichlid"
  12. i thought about taking her out but the tank is full of texas holey rock and the net touches the water they all disappear... so is it a positive on the holding? or is it never a positive?
  13. well is she? i havent been watching the fish much lately but when i did a water change i noticed a "crater" that the fish must have created then i noticed this fish that looks like she is holding. she is also hiding a lot more and when its feeding time she will swim out to the food but not eat and swim back to hide again. also how do you tell how long they have been holding for?
