Need help understanding my Empire Gudgeon.

Small fish don't like being the only one out in open spaces, because in the wild they get eaten. More fish will help out -

Getting as much surface movement of the water as you can helps with your gas exchange. It's not the heat that kills the fish, at least not directly. The hotter water is the less dissolved oxygen it can carry so the fish suffocate. Signs to look out for are fish gasping at the surface. Cut back on feeding, if the fish produce less waste there is less demand for oxygen by filters. be cautious when using frozen bottles you can cause a temp swing that can stress the fish more and generate cold pockets in the aquarium that you don't want. So make sure you have good circulation and monitor with thermometer. dont underestimate a good water change, once the water out of the tap is no longer boiling that is.

I would advise against the bedroom if setting up a large number of tanks and plumbing. You will spill water and that's going to end in more arguments than necessary. Garage is a good option as it's just concrete floor. Also if you paint the concrete it helps with insulation a little and if you use a textured paint it can help with grip when wet. -

I have done the cool room panel as well works great. But if you have a existing room then polystyrene sheets are cheap and easy to install -

Tank water to hot, fish dying fast!
Lictoga replied to Scott87's topic in Help with Fish Health, Diseases and Water Quality
Some of my tanks have been 30 this week all I do is drop the water level a inch so the spraybar is breaking the surface and move power heads to point to the surface. Keep the lights off during the day and feed lightly every second or third day. I can't remove lids because my eels will get out. This is for moderate to high stocking levels
