  1. I think it only took about 3 or 4 months. It got so thick that I had to remove it! I preferred the mosses to the HC.
  2. Unfortunately the tank has now been shut down. Here are a few pics of how it ended up. The HC, US Fissiden and Mini Pellia thrived.
  3. Filters, Airpumps etc,

I am interested in some off these items, I 'd like to come out and have a look at them on tue?

    Hydra 30

    Schego Optimal 250lph

    Eheim/Jager 300W Heater

I will PM you my address.

  4. No worries Peter, it was great to catch up again.
  5. Cherry/CRS tank with all kinds of moss, a few rocks and some driftwood.
  6. Exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Didn't get in, need to make sure you have a strong password.
  7. I've got the eheim battery gravel vac, but has a piece broken off the impeller/shaft. Still works fine, just a little imbalanced. You can have it for $30 if you like. I just prefer the old suction vac. Unsure how the battery vac would go on a bare bottom tank though, as it creates a better suction with substrate. Cheers
  8. I got my Ista 1 Litre filled at the Brendale Brew by U, in October last year, for $7.50. It may depend on who you get, as I didn't have a problem. Probably give them a call before you go.

  11. One thing to remember though, is that they only last about 12 months due to the hard water conditions.
  12. I have kept anubius with my Tropheus for years and never had a death. I am sure they will be fine. One the only plants they won't destroy, plus it will assist with the nitrate levels.
  13. G'day, and welcome to the forum. I keep my Tropheus with a PH of 8.5, GH of 8 and KH of 15. Unsure how this converts to ppm. These are the levels from the API test kit. I got this info from a Tropheus breeder in Sydney. L numbers have completely different water parameters and would struggle in these conditions. Synodontis Perticolas are bottom feeders that are better suited. Hope this helps and enjoy.
  14. Great photo work there mate, some really sharp shots....looks really good with the dark background. What type of camera are you using, if that is ok to ask?
  15. Just wanted to say thanks to John for the excellent service that he provides at all times. I had a product that only worked for a couple of months and he swapped it, no questions asked. Always extremely helpful, prepared to have a chat and provide helpful hints to this addictive hobby. Thanks again mate, hope that you and your family have a great Christmas. See you in the New Year.
