  1. Thanks Jas, I've been trying to work out for a while now the females by sight LOL, many nights sitting trying to work it out... Can I ask what indicates females to you? I do plan to keep them for as long time... Luckily the Mrs loves the Frontosa and our Festae (5) so I'm future proofed fingers crossed I'll get some more pics of my Festae soon, those photos are shit, so hard to take photos of! What settings do you guys use to get a still, sweet photo without blur? Got a few cameras - Canon EOS, Olympus snapper X2, and HTC phone... There are 3 Kigoma's in my colony that I'm ready to move on, although very nice, I prefer the Burundi profile and don't want to do 6.5 bar hybrids LOL. Todd

  4. Hey Steven, No I took the risky approach and added different bloodlines and different sizes. The small ones have been in there for some time though, they don't seem to grow fast being bottom of the pack. With enough hiding places it is pretty easy and safe. To add small ones. I only lost 2. Cheers, Todd
  5. My Frontosa Colony: My largest female Festae:
  6. Hi All, Sorry for the crap quality pics, damn phones
  7. Capalaba Pet Store (the big one on Redland bay Rd) was selling them for a while at $370. I took a pic on my phone and showed the guys at AOA... No dramas I have spent literally thousands at AOA though, so that may have worked in my favor lol...
  8. They have been reported a number of times for their reptile husbandry from what I have heard. This store has a bad knack of buying extra stock to make room for the ones that die while on display!!! I reckon there'd be nothing worse than taking your child to buy their first long neck turtle, only to look into their enclosure to find them under nourished, skinny, frail, floating and or dead!
  9. Age of Aquariums for your FX5! Find your best price online and they will beat it. I got my brand new FX5 for $355!!! Ben from AOA looked to have tears in his eyes parting with it though hahaha.... Bargain of the decade!
  10. Let's not start on their dead turtles, sick reptiles and crap prices! (Pet Superstore that is)

  12. Hey Cav, I had a large chocolate Cichlid that had lips issues, it had been fighting with my festae and the lips of the Choc became all deformed looking, and the actual lips looked to be partly hanging off. In this case, with a bit of TLC and hospital tank separation, it came right on it's own. How big is your sand diver? I have also read in other references that a sizable fish can have it's mouth put back into place by pinching the mouth, extending it and then 'reseating it' lol. Doesn't sound good, poor fish.... Good luck, Todd
