  1. I'm not very active here so don't have much to complain about normally, but personal/private messages, phone numbers, etc. of someone being shown in the 'Trade Disputes' section by the other party involved I believe to be a breach of privacy (if it's not consented, of course... which normally it wouldn't be), and surely would go against the Australian Privacy Act somewhere (I would look into the Privacy Act myself but that website is a nightmare to navigate). I'm aware the Act does cover 'private messages', so I assume most texts and PMs (regardless of the website/medium) will be covered. I've had something similar to this happen to me before on another forum, where someone cherry-picked snippets of things I'd said from a Facebook correspondence to suit his personal agenda and included personal details about me within these snippets, so I know first-hand how horrible this can be. I believe that if screenshots of correspondence are to be shown, that they should have names, phone numbers, addresses, etc. censored out. I do not believe this to be a big ask for mods to implement, and I'm sure it will save a lot of pain for whoever is on the receiving end of something like this in the future as they will still be semi-anonymous. I would have posted this in the thread for suggestions but would like to create more of a discussion and hear differing opinions and feedback.
  2. Your tank looks great! I'm envious! If that beckettii(?) up the back is anything to go by those crypts you got from me shouldn't have any issues!
  3. A good alternative to this would be the cages from industrial lights. A second-hand building materials shop might be good to try.
  4. Just a few photos of a simple idea I had a while ago in relation to growing mosses emersed inside in a more stable temperature which I've posted on a few other forums. This is perfect for any bare-bottomed and low light tanks you may have whose inhabitants won't mind being a little shaded. The bottom of the container is laid with a layer of folded paper towel (be careful the paper towel isn't scented, antibacterial, etc. - I've never actually tried this but don't think it would be the best idea!) and then use just enough fish tank water to wet the paper towel completely, lay the moss on top and put on the lid to keep in the humidity. Easy. At the time these photos were taken these mosses had about a month of growth on them (the browned bits you can see were the original pieces of moss that went in).
  5. I've had an Anubias in a round drum/tub about a metre deep, under a verandah and had the top completely covered with duckweed and it absolutely thrived! Between the shaded position, the depth of the water and the duckweed, it was getting next to no light at all, and like I said before, it didn't just survive - it loved it!
  6. Rainbowfish Australia is good, and I would also recommend Australian Shrimp Auctions (they do a lot of native and non-native shrimp as well as plants (mainly the exotic rares such as buce, mosses, etc.)). Livebearers Australia is quite decent, too, but it doesn't have much in the way of natives. I'll update this when others come to mind.
  7. I don't have any right now, but Glenn Ng (active on a lot of the shrimp pages on Facebook) has a great selection.
  8. Yes, it seems like everyone prefers the streamlined nature of Facebook. I'd be recommending you check out some Facebook pages. There are a multitude of pages about what you are interested in that are frequented by ANGFA members and others which are very active at the moment, in particular Rainbowfish Australia that is administered by Peter Matheson, I believe.
  9. Thanks everyone! I think looking at the tip would be my best chance, but I'll look into getting them from elsewhere. @tdj5 Do you think next time I'm up that way I could pick up a few? I might also look into getting them couriered here if it's not too expensive. @pony-tail Yes, it's an Evans Head Rhad, and as for breeding them, I have in the past but got rid of them a few years ago. However, I did "come by" a few a couple of weeks ago with the intention of breeding them again. If you're interested in the collection location I'd be happy to send it to you via PM.

  11. I'm looking for some milk crates around the Brisbane/Gold Coast/Northern NSW areas. Does anyone have any to sell or give away or know anywhere or anyone I should inquire about them to? I'm looking for them to be used to raise plants inside IBCs. Thanks in advance.
