I have about 12 PRL CRS in a 60 litre tank, which I've had them in for about 2 months and was cycled for several weeks before adding them. They were purchased as juvies and have grown quite a bit, molt frequently and appear to be quite active. It's pretty heavily planted and has quite a lot of drift wood, a few indian almond leaves and a biological sponge filter with a small air stone up the other end. They graze all day on biofilm so I dont think they aren't getting enough food, it's just got me stumped why they wont touch anything I put in the tank! I've tried:
Hakari shrimp cuisine - a few hours in the tank before removed
Hakari algae wafers - as above
Ocean nutrition shrimp wafers - in all day and then over night
Blanched zucchini and spinach - in approx 24 hrs
And at most 1 might have had a bit of a feed for a few minutes but I cant notice any of the food actually 'gone' although I acknowledge they dont eat much. I've seen a lot of pictures and videos of shrimp going crazy for food but they genuinely couldn't care less about what I put in the tank. Could it be the case that theres more biofilm than they can eat, so dont give a stuff about food added? Tank conditions below:
Water changes twice a week, 9-10L a time
I'm not overly concerned as I can see they have food passing through their body, they do molt full shells and have grown a lot, but I absolutely cannot work our why they dont want anything I put in. Heres a photo of the tank (sorry, they love the algae too much to clean the sides) and a photo of one of the favorites.
