  4. Ok so before I left for work I fed and checked all fish as usual but upon coming home from work I checked my frontosa colony and they were all dead. Ten fish gone. I am devastated but checked everything. I had other fish in with them for weeks and they were all ok. All levels were good. Ammonia was only minutely raised. The filter was working and heat was normal. I changed the water and cleaned filter normally just last week. I did see small fingertip sized marks on some of the heads of the fish. But apart from that there was a glob of something in the filter when I checked it all out. Looked like sand and silicone mixed and about the size of a ping pong ball. Was sticky and hard to get off filter. Anyway I am about ready to sell up n just keep a display tank of cheap guppies but dunno what to do.

  7. awesome reading,. thanks for sharing
  8. thats Awesome. I just get annoyed at people judging new people when they themselves are new. at least you care about your fish enough to seek help. Keep updated about results on water tests and if you can just get a basic test kit, can get some pretty cheaply. know what its like not having days off Im in the middle of nine on with one day off (yesterday) in the middle
  9. ok so all is going fantastic with my tank. an so super happy with it, I have a smooth toadfish in there at the moment, know I probably wont keep him but he is happy and eating and so so cute.
  10. why question it, if you are lucky enough to have a huge batch, thats awesome news for you. congrats
  11. i would have changed the water just to be safe. yes you need a test kit and prime helps if you are using tap water but I like to keep a bin full of aged water for emergencies and because I am always topping up sump lol. people on here are far too quick to belittle you and not as fast at helping. I would put a test kit on your to do list but until you can afford it talk to your pet shop. I hope your fish are ok and continue to be. You can only learn and people should remember that they were new in the hobby once.
