  1. The only Media used with U/G filtration is Gravel.
  2. Killi fish are expert at jumping out of tanks. Have lost a few, they get out where the heater leads come in, I plug the holes with cotton wool.

  7. Buy 6 young cories, as they grow, look at them from above the female will be fatter. Put 1female and 2 males in a small mature tank, change 25% water using COOL water, they will spawn on the glass take the parents out and the fry will grow on in that tank.

  9. I have bred plenty of Apistogramma cacatuoides I don't think the males are aggressive, the male gets a pounding from the female when they have fry I have kept them with cichlids of the same size with no problems.

I put the eggs on Java Moss and drop them in a small tank with water movement On this occasion I had no tank ready due to my health problems I have now put them in a tank, I put 1 female and 2 males in a small tank give them a cold water change if they spawn I take the adults out an use a small filter to push the water around.

I gave a 3ft tank a dung out Sat, it contained about 60 Trillineatus young I topped the tank up with water straight from the tap it was a bit parky Sat afternoon and again Sun Morning the fish spawned on the glass I removed the eggs with a razor blade and put them on Java Moss in a shallow dish.

  13. You are lucky if you have plenty of Daphnia, one of the the best food for fish. I have never known them to eat dead fish. I have never found them in QLD.
