  1. My pair of convicts have been getting really well for last 4 months or so and have had mated and brought up about 24 fry. Over the last 3-4 days the male as been bullying the female by head butting her in the side and then pushing her hard into the gravel in the bottom of the tank and won't let her go. Should I be worried for the female? Adrian
  2. Looks great. I might do something similar. Adrian
  3. Thanks I will put it in the bottom basket with lotsa noodles around the bag. Adrian
  4. Ok be nice. I have bought a 100g bag of Purigen to put in my canister filter. But where is the best place to place the bag? I read it should be placed in a high flow area but where in or out, does it make a big difference? Adrian

  10. I agree with the polystyrene box. Pet shop at Mt Gravatt packed 2 fish in a polystyrene box in separate bags for me and the fish were in my car for 36 hours with no ill effects at all. Adrian
  11. Buy a ups. One that will run your filters for around 24 hours. I have one connected to my filters and it was used last week. We lost power only for 8 hours but the ups worked without problems. The ups was cycled 1 hour on 1 hour off to maximize longevity. Adrian
  12. Thanks for that I wasn't sure whether the parental duties would stop with new fry. I am happy to leave them with the parents but just in case I will buy/diy a fry saver. Adrian
  13. I have around 20 convict fry in a tank with mum and dad. It now appears that's mum and dad are about to do the deed again as the are busily digging holes all over the tank and both are getting colorful again. The fry are about 8mm long. Should I remove the fry or are they ok with mum and dad? Adrian

  15. I told the lfs (plantaroma) that it was little excessive for the fish. And they explain it is expensive to transport fish from Brisbane. I like bristlenoses but not sure I would pay $50 for a single. I will wait and pick some up from Brisbane on my next visit. Adrian
