  1. Have u ever tried or thought of fluval fx series. They tend to be easy to prime, optional 12mm or 16mm hoses. Fluval are tall and deep lots more room for media and more stages of filtration so less time cleaning your tank cleaner. Plus no need for over flow though not always nessecery in most cases. They go hard for longer. Aqua one on the otherhand has become a cheap nasty brand smashed by chain stores so example a fluval fx6 will do a 1000 L tank...but pricey. In your case i say 250 L tank u would need a fx5. Not warrioring here just giving a few options for you. <br />

  3. i had a flower-horn and a Oscar only small ones 17cm each of them i only had a 4 footer space was a issue but they would play and splash and smash the top of the water i moved them on to a mate i warned him what they did he didn't listen he started to whinge that in the middle of the night they would play and splash he lost a 1/4 of his tank on the floor and stuffed his hood lol so what he do sold them to a lfs because of that :-( absolutely spewing, So Americans are intelligent and like to play so a lid is essential

  4. just time mate. 26 degrees and just keep doing 10% water changes every few days once he's found a suitable place to feel safe and begins to fan to show off to his girls. Bristle-noses tend to sulk i supposedly brought a breeding pair and they sulked for year till they were ready and bam 100 fry every three weeks, what tank mates do they have what substrate and for breeding you should keep driftwood and also a high ph of 7.5 :-) Good luck mate have plenty of back breeding tanks ready they're slow growers.

  5. i was talking to a lfs owner and he said just mornin feeds of prawns and goldfish feeders he was a lovely specimen at the same size as your mangrove jack. Mangrove jacks are the most aggressive native fish out for us aussies they can grow up to 1 metre long in the wild and were salt water only but have altered to fresh water and cultured to ph 7.5 to 8.0 through aquarium keeping standards is he a beautiful bronze colour at that size
