  1. thanks guys for the lovely comments, lighting is dupla combi II electra unit (150w hqi @ 8000k x 2) + powercompacts 48w @ 6500k camera is a lumix tz40 18mp yes I just put my lights and co2 back up for grabs and downgrading to lowtech until I can afford high end led's and much larger co2 bottle.

  3. money, running cost and commitment, im so close to going reef and have pretty much all of the equipment for it but dont have the time and money for high power bills so i have all my gear up for grabs. AR980 curved glass cornered 200ltr bowfront with jewul 3d background and custom stand i made 3x hagen powerglo-marine glo tubes+reflected inbuilt canopy 50kgs of fine crushed coral sand mixed with seachem pearly shores teco tr10 heater+chiller and aqua uv-s ecotech vortech mp10 all u need is a good protien skimmer and sump :-)
  4. this topics not to be taken with a grain of salt there certain types of salts mix's for certain species of fish. eg discus dont like sodium so there salt mix dosnt contain it fish need some type of salt (gh) in there water for proper osmoses function of gills ect.. so ordinary salt is out of the question

  12. thanx mone :-) if you get me the sizes i could do you a flat pack 90 degree top trim rails installed for the front trim to be mounted on satin mdf board cut up ready for routing and sanding satin mdf routed and sanded ready for undercoat dry fitted and predrilled to make sure every thing lines up and is cut right undercoated in 2pk polyester nitrocellulose lacquer (black) top coat sprayed panels on drying racks
  13. well the red empress are sold and out, 5 kigoma frontosa's are in with 13 leleupi and now the frontosa's just got sold and leaving tuesday. confusing hey?> ok so now i have an actual stocking list planned and hope to get some input if this will work from all you tang experts :-) 5 leleupi 5 nigripinnis 5 leptosoma 2 sumbu comps any room for some cukoo's ?
  14. hey guys ive got a nice custom cabinet im making for a member here and thought i would share a build journal along the way ive got the cutting list drawn up and started ripping and edging the panels ready for assembly. heaps of pics on the way to show the progress and it begins ripped,docked and edged ready for marking out one cabinet assembled trio of cabinets screwed together kick made with ss laminate on ply cabinets on kick with stainless shadow line panel on top more to come of the satin board being cut and being prepped for spraying, cheers from Aussie

  17. hey guys and calling all african fanatics, ive finally made up my mind and going all Tanganyikans for my next big project display tank. ive just bought a large school of leleupi (12) and some juvenile f1 kingoma frontosa's (5) and wanting to add them with other tangs such as nigripinnis and leptosoma's. will this work in a 240g 8x2x2? any advice will be great, cheers aussie

  20. thanx guys for the postive feedback ;-) im really wanting tangs shon but have stocked it at the moment until i find the exact tangs im getting does anyone know what africans these are? i presume malawi of some type
  21. mmm been tempted to get a mated pair of blue turq's recently to get some colour in the tank and will be rescaping a few plants plus adding more flourite in the forground not to mention a dozen crypts and nana anubias to really get this tank back to display quality. ive also cut back my photoperiod with the halides to save power and kill green spot algae plus the plants are actualy growing faster now? must of got the fert/lighting/co2 in check and happy to see quality results :-) this tank hasnt had much attention in the last few months and really been focusing on my african tank that nearly there and will be posting more updates on the mancave so please stay tuned, keep green and fish keen from aussie
