Yeah still doing the arcade stuff, I'm in the process of moving into what was the 'fish room' downstairs and will rent out the rooms upstairs. I quit my 9-5 job and am going to see how I go living off arcade repairs etc. Good point re depth, I did some research when I first started thinking about it, the way I understood it was that if it's not for swimming purposes then it doesn't need to be fenced off but I'll call BCC tomorrow and get confirmation.

Thanks Cam, the spot never gets fill sun and there are no trees nearby to ha e to worry about anyway. I'll get some pond liner tomorrow, if it lasts five years that's good enough.

Wow, I thougjt I'd get at least one response after a week. I haven't been on the forum for a couple of years but has it really changed so much? Surely someone has an opinion and or experience in pond building...

    Small Garden Pond

I have a small area at the front of the house that I'm going to make into pond that will be used to breed and grow out small fish in preparation for a larger (10,000 litres) aquaponics setup that I'll be building later in the year. In between both builds I also plan to set up two IBCs for aquaponics. I was initially going to just put the small plastic pond in then thought it would be better to use the entire space for the pond. It's 2000mm long and 800mm wide and I plan to go about 600mm deep. That should give me around 1000 litres. My first decision will be to decide on what to line the pond with. Three options I'm looking at are: 1 - Pond Liner - cheap and easy 2 - Blue Waterproof Paint - more expensive and the entire pond will need to concreted. 3 - Fibreglass - most expensive but will give a better long term result with virtually no chance of it leaking if done right. I'd like some opinions from people with experience in using these methods as well as pro and cons of each. I'm leaning towards using pond liner at the moment as it is quick and easy to complete the job.

    Usernames

Kaizen is a Japanese term used in business meaning continuous improvement. I tried to use 888 on one of the first things I used it for as a user name and it was already taken so I settled for 088 which I've used ever since.
