  1. Hi all, have recently got a Geo surinemensis off a guy and found that it has 2 small holes in the head (above the left eye). Asked the seller and was told the they have them (the holes) since he bought it from a shop. But today I see fungus on one of the hole (scar) . Have put methylene blue in the tank now and what else can i do. Thanks in advance.
  2. I notice last night a male and female of my LOMBARDOI's head butting each other, is this part of their mating dance or what? Regards marc
  3. I recently got a couple of pair of Nanochromis dimidiatus.....West African Dwarf cichlid....like a small krib. One pair is set up in a well planted 2ft tank.....I feed them live food at least once a day....I noticed a parasite on the females dorsal....so I treated the tank for parasites....it disappeared but I then noticed a lesion on the females head. I did lots of research and one article suggested Tropical Almond leaves for Hole in head disease....I have some for my bettas so I added several leaves to the tank. That was 2 weeks ago....the lesion has disappeared from the female's head! These are a soft water fish....I use 50/50 tap /rainwater....don't know how effective the Almond leaves would be in Hard water? They send the water tea coloured....I've now added them to all my softwater fish tanks and fish all seem to have more intense colour....offset a bit by the brown water. Just thought I'd pass on the info!
  4. Hiya all Over the last few days most of my dolphins have come up with lesions on their foreheads, as well as darkening patches spreading out from there and rough scales. One of them has really cloudy film over his eyes I have posted some pics to my gallery and will attempt to put a few here. Could low salt do this in a few days ? Water change last weekend but forgot to put in replacement salt. Have put it in now. I would really appreciate if anyone has any suggestions. Regards Hilly
