  4. Hi all Live plants have been selling out lately, so we have decided to give people a weekly heads up on what we have on hand each week. Bit of a rushed one this week, but grabbed some sample photos too! Plenty of bunches of, Blue stricta Giant ambulia (why would you ever settle for normal when giant is this beautiful?) Lace ferns Mayaca Narrow ludwigia Pogostemon stellata Rotala wallichii (if you have the light power to keep it, this stuff is pure bling!) Wysteria Also still a few bunches of, Hygrophilia Hygrophilia Pisces Pink baby tears Cardamine lyrata Green pennywort Baby tears Rotala rotundifolia Ludwigia Bacopa Didplus diandra Bunches are $5.95 each or 4 for $20 A good mix of medium Anubias on wood ($39 each) And a few rather special nano driftwood creations ($59 each) for those who like their fancy on the small scale. And lots more fresh pots of HC ($12 each or 5 for $50), and lastly banana lilly, java and xmas moss. Have a great week end everyone, And catch you next week for the new plant list!

  10. You will appreciate this one - how about pumping 2 meters deep - how about virtually inaudible and how sexy is this - see through double wall encasing with dampening to make it super quiet. Even if you are not after a new air pump just check this baby out - just another reason Aquael is a major quality brand rocking and shaking up the market. Aquael Oxypro 150 Air Pump - ultra quiet and supplies air up to 2m deep
  11. A question about ageing aquarium water... I have recently started ageing my aquarium water as the water from my tap is around a pH of 6.8/7 and my aquarium water is around 7.4/7.6. So I have been ageing my aquarium water for about two weeks now, about 24hrs prior to doing a water change. I always check the pH of my aged water and aquarium water before changing the water and all has been fine. Today I went to do another water change and checked the pH of the aged water which had been aerating for 24hrs and it was around pH of 8!! I wasn't sure if I should use it so I tipped it out and started again, but this time only let it age for 4hrs, then checked the pH and temperature which was the same as my aquarium. So my questions are: 1. Is it OK to only age water for 4 hrs to prevent pH rising to much? (I use prime as well) 2. Why did the pH of the aged water rise higher than it has previously? I hadn't done it any different than usual (let it aerate for 24hrs with aerator and heater) 3. When ageing aquarium water is it OK to cover the container with a lid? I would really appreciate some help with this. thank you

  22. Hi Folks I'm new to this forum and my dilemma is my "peppermint" - I bought it from someone clearing out their tanks and thought it was probably a girl. It's about 10cm long, has started to grow longer bristles just around the lip since I acquired her about 3 months ago. She doesn't have a white edge on her fins like my other smaller pepps and her tail is not as rounded. My question is this - could it be just a really old female, or could it be another kind of bristlenose? I have some pics in my gallery if you're interested. Would appreciate any input Thanks Mouse
