6. I decided a few months ago I would like to keep and breed Betta Plakats. I chose Siamese Fighters because of smaller tank requirements which = less water, smaller wattage heaters = less water and not huge leccie bills. Previously I bred Malawis and thought Bettas would be a nice change and a new challenge. I intended doing this in my pergola but on chat one night Cam07 suggested a shade house! I thought yep a shade house in the pergola. After looking online and not seeing anything to my liking I went to Bunnings and bingo! they had just what I wanted. It is 3mtrs x 3mtrs x 2.4mtrs. I knew the height might be a problem but thought I could overcome it. So after assembling the A frames I found it was too high so I took the feet off. Now the 2 outside frames will fit but I will have to cut down the legs of the middle frame. To be continued.......
 7. I'm looking for a Betta racks (used or new) like 6-12+ divisions. It's hard to find here in Brissie.

 12. Hi, I purchased some Bettas the other day, and got one floating (on his side) one for free in the hopes that I can recover it. Between the abdomen and tail on the lower part there seems to be protrusion of air, and I am guessing this is SBD, apparently he had been like this for a while. What I have done so far, given him a nice bath in IAL water, raised the temp in the tank (he is more active trying to swim normal and is actually righting himself much more than before). I haven't been feeding him for the last two days, and gave him some pea yesterday which sinks so he can't get it even though the water level is low (about two inches). Anyone else got and ideas on how I can save this lovely fella, I am concerned about starving him too much. Thanks Dan

 17. Hey guys, I am interested in purchasing a lovely half moon betta and was just wondering about tank sizes. I currently have an empty 20 gallon tank (60cm long x 45 cm high x 30 cs wide) and was just wondering if this tank is too high for a betta? I have read that bettas can't live in high fish tanks, so I would like to know your opinions of this myth. I can purchase a smaller tank; however, i want to give the fish as much room as it deserves. Thanks in advance guys!

 20. Hi all, I was browsing my local aquarium store a few days ago and spotted an absolutely gorgeous blue butterfly halfmoon plakat MALE betta. I have a 4ft 180L tropical tank at home containing 4 angels (1 is in a hospital tank recovering from popeye), 3 plecos (each 10cm), about 25 tetras (colombians, black widow, white skirt, penguin, + 6 large rummynose the size of a female betta), and 5 female bettas. I was wondering, in such a big tank with lots and lots of hollow pots and rocks for shelter and tonnes of silk plants, would it be alright to put the plakat male betta in this tank? I already have 3 other male bettas (1 pink butterfly HM, 1 super delta dragon, 1 red butterfly rosetail) all in tanks of their own, so if he has to go in on his own it's not a problem. But I would love to see if he could coexist with this lot first. Please keep in mind that I did NOT buy the plakat male when I saw him and he may have already been sold by now but I would love to know what you all think. Thanks in advance!

 24.

Hi guys, My male betta keeps deciding that he will build a bubble nest directly over the flow of bubbles from my CO2 defuser which flow directly into his nest. He decided to get frisky with his sister and now has a batch of eggs within the nest. The question I have is should I keep my CO2 regime as is, or leave it off for the duration of the spawn (Will CO2 bubbles disturb his nest/mess with the eggs)? Cheers in advance for the input. Cudders
