  5. Looking on the internet for tankmates for a little variety of fish I have and I keep getting top ten lists for most aggressive aquarium fish...so got me wondering about the whole aggressive fish angle...which fish bring the most heat to the tank?....my little guys are Telmatochromis Dhonti and they punch well above weight....they might only make about 12 or so centimetres but(according to one odd story)even bully oscars 4 times their size(oscars with dhonti..?!?!)...and my original breeding pr came from a group where everyone else had to die!... So which varieties do you guys think have the most "issues" or bring that box of matches to a happy friendly community ....
  6. Ok, so last night I had a few mates around for drinks they decided to bring there boyfriends along as well...... didnt realize I had to say leave the dogs at homes ladies, as the night proceeded on particularly large unusual looking gentlemen started to imagine that a another man (much more attractive and fitter than he) was looking at his girl, this of course was not the case but hey beers turned into rum and rum makes the men a little off I believe. So long story short this is what Im having to do this morning ................ yes you are seeing right, thats my parrots, flowerhorn and catfish in together, playing nice so far. The jealous man decided that his little fantasy was real and got into quite a little rough and tumble with the other guy, my filing cabinet which was near two of my tanks (yes my bad) went down straight through both sending water fish and substrate all over my loungeroom floor and we had to call an ambulance for the aggressor as turns out....he aint that tough. So looks like Im getting out the burn card this morning to get two more tankies, any suggestions as to where the best is to buy on such short notice?

  12. Thought I'd just share what we brought home from our dog walk on Christmas Day ..... a few Empire Gudgeons caught out of a local drain. They are amazing fish to watch in the wild: amazing colours and the boys were all defending a different rock. We caught these in about 10cm-15cm of water in a reasonably flowing drain of crystal clear water. We'd never seen these in this spot before so I think they had relocated out of the larger storm water drain into this side channel (we had a decent drop of rain with the cyclone). Since bringing them home (we caught about 3 boys, 4 girls and a few guppies), on the first day 2 boys set up territories and fought fiercely in great colour for them but now they are all free swimming all over the tank. I need to put some more rocks and hiding holes to settle them a bit I think. We don't normally bother with wild-caught fish but I couldn't pass these guys up
  13. Come on people, we have all made something for our tanks. Caves from pots or potters clay, backgrounds from cement or stones glued to the glass, home made filters etc etc give us some pics and info lets get this thing happenin
