  1. Hi guys. Posting here in the hope that I may be able to find a colony of these guys or some fry i could purchase?
  2. I'm a big fan of a lot of fish(hello my fellow addict fishkeepers ) but I've always had a spot for the beautiful varieties of Mbuna(a variety of beautiful rock inhabiting cichlids from Lake Malawi for the unknowing ) and one group in particular I have always liked are the cynotilapia...so your Afra Hara,Cobue, etc etc and just thought I'd get a little action going on some of these great fish(I've heard inexperienced folk telling those interested in these fish some bad info) and we can share thoughts, tips, experiences etc whilst I will discuss some cynotilapia varieties please feel free to discuss othe Mbuna because many share similar behaviours and this can only help appreciate these great territorial fish.... Anyways was reading a Cichlid News mag and these guys popped up: These guys are Cynotilapia Aurifrons and very nice if you ask me
  3. Welcome guys. We had 6 members indicate that they desired to work with this fish so here is your section to discuss your work. The success of this project is in their hands. This fish is commonly known as Cynotilapia Hara "Gallifry Reef", however I am told the above name is correct and beleive we should try and use the correct name. (Thanks matt). I suspect the challange will be seeking fish (I think there is a few colonies in NSW?) and ensuring we have fish from different sources, and sharing the details of how to breed successfully, how to raise successfully and the required culling to ensure that Quality fish are produced. If the 6 members could all introduce themselves and there involvement with the fish as a starting point. Any other members are free to join, and ofcourse members are free to leave at any time. Steve
  4. So afra cobues or zebroides? Are these the same? I've seen people say afra aren't what these fish are called anymore? I'm so confused and just want to figure out what these fish are called or if they are different fish all together? Thank you!
  5. Welcome guys. We had 5 members indicate that they desired to work with this fish so here is your section to discuss your work. The success of this project is in their hands. This fish is commonly known as Cynotilapia afra (chewere), however I am told the above name is correct and beleive we should try and use the correct name. (Thanks matt). I suspect the challenge will be seeking fish knowing Tutters has been seeking this one for a while. If the members could all introduce themselves and there involvement with the fish as a starting point. Any other members are free to join, and ofcourse members are free to leave at any time. Steve
