  1. Are you keeping fish that like soft water? Well, we have the product for you!!! Macropore Gold.... it's the Ion-exchange resin that softens your water!! It will also remove hydrated lime, polish your water and remove tannins!!! Wow!!! Perfect for fish like Discus, Apisto's, L-Number Catfish, Angels, Barbs, South American Dwarf species, Tetra's and Rams. It's fantastic for your shrimp tanks too!! Just place it in a media bag and put it somewhere water will flow through it like an internal filter or a canister. Can be recharged. This product really is amazing. It would also work really well being run in conjunction with Macropore White. 2. Thought id share a couple pics of my large gold Saum. I've grown him out from when he was an inch long. Also have another gold that im in tge process of growing out. He has got potential to be another looker. I also have a white/silver around the 4.5cm mark and is looking the goods. He's just a tad camera shy. All are fed on Hikari pellets, live shrimp, earth worms and the odd pea. Im a Saum fanatic and hands down my all time favorite. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  3. At the moment I'm feeding both of these pellets to my 6ft American tank. Was just wondering what the big difference is between the 2 or just the price tag. Is it worth paying little extra for the bio gold or just stick with regular gold? Cheers
  4. Hey everyone, bought a new tank today and want to make the back of it black. I painted my last tank but want to try contact this time. I need to find somewhere that has enough to do 6ft by 28" in one go. Cheapest/best value for money
  5. The smaller guy in the pics is my concern. He has always seemed skittish compared to my big docile gold spot. When the light is on he seems to drop his colour. He can sometimes even look like he is on deaths door he goes so light. Then he pops off to his log and comes out 10mins later nice and as dark as the big fella...30secs later he drops his colour again. Is it just his natural camo going into overdrive against the white sand and perhaps the light? Or does he look stressed? He is a eating and pooping machine, growing steadily and doesn't otherwise act worrisome....
  6. My Gold Honey Dwarf Gouramis have had fry but I am unprepared and a beginner with Gouramis. What is the best way to keep the fry, they are absolutely tiny (about 4 days old). What water temp, ph, do they need a filter? I currently have them in a small tank , no heater, no filter but with an air stone. I am feeding them liquid fry food. They don't seem to move around much, just hang out on plants and the side of the tank, is this normal? If anyone has experience with these fish, I would love to hear from you, it would be greatly appreciated. cheers😎
  7. Hi there, just wondering if anyone can let me know how to tell if a Gold Honey Dwarf Gourami is male or female? Is there a simple way or do you have to wait until they are older? Thank you.

  19. .I have found a lot of information in relation to macropore for fishes but not much info on its effect on shrimps so thought some one here could help me out. My questions are specifically for CRS/CBS/Taiwan Bees. 1. Has anyone use macropore gold successfully to lower the PH? Does it have any effect, adversely or positively, on GH/KH/TDS? 2. Can macropore gold and white be used together? Gold for soft water and white for removal of nitrogenous wastes? 3. Will either macropore gold or white remove beneficial 'elements' of IAL/blackwater extract? I hope to remove the 'tea colour' but retain the beneficial 'elements' in the water. Appreciate any advice. Thanks heaps!

  23. Hi everyone, I have a goldfish that in the last 2 days has been looking a bit worse for wear- he has some scales raised on one side and is nose down a bit... It is the only one with the issue - everyone else is fine. I have a few theories - 1. Some rough loving from the other fish as there has been some activity in the tank. 2. He got stuck behind my little eheim again which is attached to the side of the tank. 3. Dropsy. I've done a water change - about 1/3 changed and added salt... not sure what else to do. He eats fine and is active a bit, just had moments of being lethargic and nose down. Any thoughts/suggestions?
  24. Hi everyone. I was walking around a lake in Varsity lakes last night with my friend and our dogs when we noticed what appeared to be african cichlids swimming in enormous numbers. We had stopped to feed the ducks some stale bread when we noticed that a lot of peacock looking fish were also eating the bread. Has anyone seen anything like this before on the Gold Coast? I have bought some tiny hooks and we are going to try and get at least one today using bread. I really hope they are natives and we were both mistaken but I have owned a lot of peacocks and they have quite a recognisable shape.
