  1. Can anyone explain to me why this food is so popular? Is it just the bang for buck? Is it just the advertising? Im not looking for a "my fish love it" answer, I'm just wondering if I'm missing something. On paper it doesn't even compare to NLS and seems to use similar ingredients as any old 'home brand' pellet. I see people recommending it left, right and centre... Why??
  2. At the moment I'm feeding both of these pellets to my 6ft American tank. Was just wondering what the big difference is between the 2 or just the price tag. Is it worth paying little extra for the bio gold or just stick with regular gold? Cheers
  3. I am looking for anyone thta has some Hikari frozen blood worm in stock and does bulk buys. Ive cehceked most web sites and there seems to be a under supply at the moment. Location and indicative prices if you could thanks David
  4. Hi guys, long time. Looking at buying some bulk amounts of food as my fish are creeping up and over the 12 inch mark. Im using so many 250g packs that I def think its time I buy in kilos or larger. I have three Oscars, two plecos some americans and some $$$. I currently mainly use Hikari gold large, food sticks and fresh vegies. Aiming for something larger, so looking at massivore and carnivore. Seen the carnisticks but with the price, I might just stay with the small food sticks. Anyone use both carni and massivore, and what one is the better pellet (fish more attracted to etc) Should I just buy both lol?
  5. .For sale as mentioned above as package - $40 for all. Brand new - unopened packages.

  7. When we ran the Double Discount Days for Hikari I mentioned that I was not sure if we would be able to do this again. Here is the good news, I just got off the phone and after relaying just how well everything went and more importantly just how well it was supported especially in particular with the members of QLDAF - happening again, is not just a possibility, it will now happen again - it may not be in the same format and it will not be something that you will see in the next couple of months, it is special and something to we look forward to bringing you again. I would like to thank the supplier in giving us an opportunity to offer the promo, the support and assistance in making it happen. I would also like to give a massive thanks to everyone that supported the promo making it our biggest yet and with out your support I do not think we would have been able to do it again. Thank you and look forward to doing this again when this opportunity arises again. Its times like this that makes me so proud to be apart of such a great community. :clap2:
  8. Ensures the highest amount of carotenoid is absorbed by your cichlids Enhances sheen and luster, and promotes balanced growth Floating pellets won't cloud the water Contains natural color enhancers, Vitamin C, and beneficial microorganisms for improved coloration, digestion, disease resistance, and reduced waste. Expect vivid coloration, not possible with other diets, as a direct result of the high levels of pure cultured spirulina and highly purified astaxanthin in Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold+. The addition of beneficial microorganisms provides improved digestion, rapid growth, reduced waste, and improved water quality. Stabilized Vitamin C promotes resistance to stress and immunity to infectious disease for long-term health. Feeding Suggestions:Feed two to three times daily the amount your fish will eat within a few minutes. Remove all remaining food after the feeding period to avoid over-feeding and the water quality problems associated with this action. The benefits of Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold® Plus will only be realized with continued, uninterrupted use. Ingredients:Fish Meal, Wheat Flour, Brewer's Dried Yeast, Gluten Meal, Spirulina, Fish Oil, Bacillus Subtillus, Enzyme, Garlic, Astaxanthin, Monosodium Glutamate, DL-Methionine, Vitamin A Oil, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (source of Vitamin K), Choline Chloride, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (stabilized Vitamin C), Inositol, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Niacin, Folic Acid, Biotin, Ferrous Sulfate, Magnesium Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate, Calcium Iodate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate. Guaranteed Analysis Crude Protein 45% Min Crude Fat 5% Min Crude Fiber 2% Max Moisture 10% Max Phosphorus 1% Min Microorganisms 10,000 CFU/g Min Wanting to know who else is using this product and what everyone else thinks. To me it seems like both premium aquarium foods and aquaculture feeds will incorporate these living beneficial microorganisms in the future, its just Hikari was the first on the mark. I'm wondering who is using this product? and for what? if i had my yellows and icebergs separate I could probably feed it exclusively to by icebergs and expect the best results. The "Promotes Vivid color even in UV deficient habits", to me seems like something that is often missing in many aquarium fish, perhaps these beneficial micro organisms can provide something not available to aquarium fish in an inside tank environment, I always felt my fish could be at their best grown in outdoor ponds. Anyway this looks like a next step to me..
  9. Hi Guys, I have a tank of Africans and a tank of Americans, The Africans I have been feeding NLS and the Americans I have been feeding Hikari. The Africans poop all the time, I mean ALL THE TIME... I no sooner do a gravel vacuum and there's crap everywhere. Anyway I ran out of NLS and fed them Hikari.... well I couldn't believe the difference, it's like they had a butt plug inserted and no longer need to poop.... so much cleaner!! So my question is, has anybody else experienced this? and is it ok for the fish? cheer Gary

  14. Is finally back in stock and on the shelves! Thank you to everyone for their patience! If you want anything put aside, please just call the shop. Also NEW!!!! Hikari Seaweed Extreme "A brand new complete and balanced daily diet for all types of marine herbivores has been launched by Hikari called Seaweed Extreme. Available in both wafer and pellet formats Hikari Seaweed Extreme contains 67% natural seaweed, making it instantly attractive to herbivorous species." We tested this out the last couple of days and we like it. When you put it in its a hard pellet and then it softens a bit. The fish kinda look at it, some try it - and then WOOOOW! The ones that tried it were whizzing around trying to get as much as they can. Prices start at $10.95 for a small packet of pellets.

  17. Hey guys. (not sure if this is the right section to post this but here goes) Been looking for some place to get the hikari wafers, the green ones, in a green packet. They seem impossible to find, even on the internet. I found some on ebay, but would rather not wait for 3 weeks postage from USA. Don't seem to see Hikari at many places these days, and these algae wafers were always my favourite. Any on the coast know where I could find these?
