  1. I just got my first Kessil light ( an A150 WE- Amazon Sun ). Although this light is now obsolete I got it new at a pretty good price ( Thanks @The Tech Den ) For the size and wattage of the light it lights a 24x18x24 tank quite well . At present I am just experimenting with it to see what it will and will not grow , and seeing how deep I can go and grow carpet plants .( got a new toy gotto play .) Did not have enough money left for the flexible goose neck mount , so I had to get creative - I have it hanging from a plastic crate sitting on the coverglasses . At this stage I don't think it will be the last Kessil I buy .
  2. Here are a couple of pics of the three lights on my 60X48X47cm Tank and the three lights used. The first picture is of the Kessil Light $319 The second picture is of the Fluval Aquatic and Plant $221 The third picture is of the Ista Cree $$145 The three technologies of each light with Kessil Dense Matrix (32watt), Fluval Multiple Led (25watt) and Ista Cree (14.7 watt) This will show the aesthetics of what each light will produce - unfortunately this does not take into account the spectrums/growth produced from each light.

  4. Deal of the Day - The Sexy Kessil A360WE - Tuna Blue. Today only $469.00 !!! Link - Age of Aquariums - Kessil A360WE Tuna Blue * The new A360WE contains an upgraded LED diode that is brighter when compared to the A360 and A360W. The A360 features Kessil`s new proprietary Kessil Logic™, a unique form of spectral intelligence developed for precise color blending and optimal coral growth. In this new design, instead of varying the light intensity of two different channels to find the desired color and intensity mix, users can select the perfect spectrum and color with one knob and then adjust the intensity with the other. Kessil Logic™ will not only dramatically improve the user experience, it will also boost the light output at both ends of the spectral tuning range by as much as 30%. External Controllability In addition to its enhanced manual controllability, the A360 comes with a pair of ports that allows the fixture to be governed by external devices. This new control interface operates within a 0-10Vdc 10VDC range, making it compatible with several popular aquarium controllers. When daisy-chained in series without an external controller, the first A360 acts as the master unit propagating its settings to all other lights in the chain. Shimmer Beautiful shimmering effect gives your tank a natural, sunlit look rivaling MH. It`s like connecting with your own piece of the ocean. Tunable Spectrum Independently adjustable color channels enables tuning a preferred color within the spectral range thousands of research and testing hours determined to be the optimal spectral points for coral growth and color. Dense Matrix LED™ technology blends different light wavelengths before they leave the light, providing uniform color throughout the tank. Single light source eliminates spotlight effect, spreading powerful light over a wide area. UV No matter which spectral point is chosen with the tunable spectrum, proprietary blend of precision UV light encourages coral color. Design Different lens options let you decide between maximum penetration or maximum coverage area. Engineered for long life, quiet operation, efficient cooling and maximum performance, all in a compact, low maintenance and attractive design. LED: 90W DEX 5000 LED Fixture Dimensions: 3.8" x 4" (Length x Diameter) Coverage Area: A360WE: 24" surface radius by 3` penetration (on average) Power Supply: 100-240 VAC (Input), 48 VDC, 1.87A (Output) Power Usage: 90W
  5. Hey guys, silly question time! Just installed my new Kessil a160we thanks to John at The Tech Den! I was reading the manual and the website about tuning it perfect for my plants. It says this under the Tune section. Tune the spectrum and intensity for a personalized look. Kessil Logic™ maintains consistent output across the spectrum. 6,000-9,000K. Now would this mean no matter what colour spectrum it looks like to my eyes, it will continue to dish out the same spectrum of light to grow plants? Or would running it at the 6000k do better than the 9000k? Cheers
  6. Hey all I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with kessil 150s and how they go growing HC in a 60cm deep tank
