  2. So 2 months ago, I assembled my first tank in 3 years, I went a bit trigger happy with the decor but I otherwise was extremely happy with what I had scrounged up from my collection, all I bought was the fish so it cost me next to nothing. But the one thing I craved a little more was some space for my tetras and a tank to support some Corydoras, my friend offered me his 2 foot when I mentioned I would like a bigger tank, so this is what came of it. The only thing I have purchased other than the fish for this tank was the 2 pieces of timber and an Ambulia live plant. Everything else I already had from years ago. I am extremely happy with how this turned out and can't thank my mate enough for sending his 2 foot my way. In memory of 18 litre: You were my first ever tank and have served me well more than once, hopefully once again in the future. Ps: The purple/red light bulb in this picture burned out and was replaced by a white/daylight bulb, and was also taken by a phone and is not at all an accurate colour representation whereas the tank video was taken with a DSLR and looks extremely similar in person on my monitor.

  4. Hey Guys, Firstly I have to throw a massive thank you out to Brent Smith Photography (GreenTerror) for doing such a sensational job on the below photos. I recommend him to anybody wanting to get their pride and joy captured! I haven't put any photo's up of my setup in quite a while as it has been a long and arduous build process for which i am currently content with (yet not 100% complete). As well as, I could never capture my stock or tank in a way which did them any sort of justice. Here's a few details for those who haven't seen the tank: Tank: 8'x4'x2' (96l x 48w x 24h inch) Filtration: 2 x Odyssea CFS700 2600lph Canister Filters (mechanical and UV) Onga Pool Sand filter holding 25kg of ceramic rings and 20 litres of AquaClay (Bio filtration) Pump: Emerson Spa jet pump, 9200litres per hour (runs pool filter) Lighting: 2x Commercial Twin T8 Fluoro Holders and 1x 4 foot T8 Aquarium Light Stocking: Redtail Catfish (Phractocephalus hemioliopterus) 62cm Red Devil/Midas 29cm Jaguar 32cm Sailfin Plecostomus 38cm Enjoy!
  5. Hi I am new to this forum after been reading it for a while and researching the net. Ever since I was little my family have had aquariums and I absolutely love it. Me and my husband have been lucky and got ahold of a 6ft by 2ft aquarium for nothing, but think it might need to be re siliconed. Is this something we should do ourselves or get a glass person to do? I am not even sure where to start. We both want something not to difficult to take care of but clean and colourful. With such a large tank, what fishes suits best together? I appreciate all tips and hints. Thank you so much. Emma
