  1. Hi there. In the past three-four weeks I have lost about 9 Kuhli loaches , 3 yoyo loaches, 6 guppies 2 bristlenose commons and a bumblebee gobbie. My setup is a four foot tank with a narrow 3 foot sump underneath. Water quality is good according to the test kits (liquid not strips) I do a partial water change weekly and temp sits around 25 or so degrees depending on the time of day. My sump media consists of K1 media, marinepure spheres, ceramic noodles, lava rock,Japanese matt and fine filter padding. The fish are fed Sera veggie flakes, algae wafers and zucchini and cucumber. I did only upgrade from a canistor filter to the sump about 6 weeks ago and someone made a suggestion that the sump is perhaps too clean? Can anyone please help me?

  5. Hi, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Our tank originally had 2 neons, 3 white clouds, 2 panda Corys and 1 bristlenose sucker catfish. 3 days ago, we lost a neon to Ich disease (he had been struggling with it for a few days and we had put in White Spot Remedy into the tank). A day later we lost another neon (had ich on its tail only). And today we lost the sucker fish bristlenose catfish (no ich). Our usual PH is around 8. We tested it today and it was 8.5. Is that too high? Should we be putting in CO2? And if so, is liquid CO2 OK? We also turned up the temp to 29 degrees. Before we lost the first one. We have now lowered it to 27. Thanks so much!
  6. This happened to my female bristlenose about 3 weeks ago and died, now my Pep has it and I don't know what to do, most likely going to die by morning. Also fins are all damaged, Fight wounds? All other fish are fine.
  7. Hi guys Just a quick one. I always buy really colourful good quality fish and for some reason within a couple of days to a week they seem to lose there colour. Like firemouths lose the red as such. I'm wondering if it has something to do with having white substrate? Or would it be food related. I feed them bloodworms brine shrimp, and aqua munch sinking pellets. Any ideas? Cheers Luke

  10. had 8 yellows in a 5*2*28 display tank with other tank mates from three different sources all about 12 - 18 months old and around 10 - 12 cm , 2 turned out really dirty fish and i just put it down to bad quality fish , so i removed them and put them in a sperate tank with some blue dolphins, within a couple of days the had lost there black barring and looked like the rest of fish in the display tank nice and clean, so i then thought that this may have ben caused by them being harshed by the more dominant fish in the tank and the change of environment has caused then to become less harrased. they have now been in the sperate tank 4*20*18 for about 2 month and one fish in now losing all colour in the bottom half and is turning a whitish colour. i believe both fish to be male, water quality is good and been feed on spectrum , flake and brine shrimp nothing changed from previous tank. could this be caused by the other yellow trying to dominate the weaker fish, although they do not appear to fight, or is this sometype of disease ?? can not see any other change to shape or features of fish. any ideas / suggestions thanks
