  2. Can somebody please help me, I can not get my nitrate levels under 40ppm. Have tried every trick in the book, change water weekly 60 l, have installed de nitrate in filter, regular tank maintainence, always vacum gravel, condition water, etc. I have 200 lt tank Fluval 305 filter, noodles top tray, de nitrate middle tray, gravel bottom tray. 10 chiclids Tap water tests fine, less than 5ppm Have sought regular advice from my local pet shop dude, still not getting under 40ppm. Thing is, all fish are well, 5 pairs, all breeding regularly. Anybody got any clues ??
  3. Hi All New to this forum. Well done guys on a great informative forum. I have a question for all you knowledgeable people. I have an 8 x 2 x 2.5 trickle filter tank with about 20 large south american chiclids. I'm having trouble with the PH being too acidic and I can't get seem to drop the PH. Any suggestions would be great. Cheers Muzz
  4. I just checked the water in my 6x2x2 after changing the water yesterday and found that my nitrates reading is like a crazy 160 ppm (which is the highest reading on the card). ammonia, nitrite checked out at 0 and ph around 7. temp is 27degs and filtration is via 2x 1800LPH otto external canisters i know easiest way to remove nitrate is to change the water but i just changed like 200L yesterday in that tank and toowoomba is on pretty tight water restrictions. Just wondering if anyone has had success with other methods or options available on the market.
