  1. I have a small (30 inch) tank in my bedroom. It gets some direct sunlight in the mornings ( from around 7.30 till 9.00 ) I have the choice it gets sunlight or I get Asthma - got to have the window open a little bit . But also the tank goes cloudy about 8am to 8 30am this clears by about 1pm at the latest . Obviously this is some kind of life form (the tank has no fish yet , but does have plants ) I was wondering what it could be . I do not think it is algae as it is grey to slightly brown not green . Actuall looks like an infusorian culture but not as dense .

  8. For those who were not at the QCG a fascinating little preview of next weekend occurred. For those who were not there - here are some questions, please those who were there please do not answer, but once a question is answered feel free to add another question from what you learnt last night. How do you keep the high quality blues when breeding for shubunkin goldfish? How many Rams would you expect to be put in a breeding tank? What lake of fish do not have a representative in Spencer Jack's top 6 fish. Which fish does Spencer recommend people breed for money?
  9. So i bought some Killis a trio of and have not seen them since that night. Gentleman behind me thought one apisto in the tank with them would be ok.So since removing a few swords that where in there the next day I have not seen the male and only one female i spotted after getting out swords. So there is a bit of guppy grass in there they could be hiding in but to have not seen them at all seems odd. I put lids on the tank as ol mate said to do this as they like to jump. And i have found no bodies on the floor???Any thoughts people?

  16. Hello Everyone Sorry for the delay in getting this information up. I see that many of you are coming along so it should be a good night. In the next post below will be a template for registration. We need people to register for 2 reasons: I need to know how many people are coming so I can calculate how many staff are needed. Also as we are using the area in front of the shop we also need to let the shopping centre know how many people are coming as they will need to provide extra security on the night based on the extra influx or people at that time. Since last year we have upgraded our Point of Sale system. We now need to have your details in our system to be able to offer you the discounted products, not just on the night but in the future as well. We won't have time on the night to set up new customer details. Some of you will have already gone through this process but just to make sure, can you please register your details again to make sure that you don't miss out on any discounts on the night, plus we still need to know that you are coming along. We are looking forward to seeing you all again this year and hope that we all have a great time like last year. Regards Russ

  18. Just want say hello and it's great to be a part of this community. I jumped straight into the traders' section (too eager to start my collection from nothing, lol it's been awhile) and haven't introduced myself yet so here it is. My name is Howievn and I've been a fish fan of aquariums for a number of years now. I have a 4/2/2.5ft tank with a new jardini about 25cm and is tank mates with clown loaches (8-10cm) and guppies, lol. Seems to be going great so far although there was an altercation on the fist day I introduced the jardini to the tank. She took a bite at one of the smaller loaches but I quickly tap the glass pane which made her spit the loach out. Since then she has not really taken notice of them or the guppies. Mind you they do swim about sometimes without any problems and hide amongst the rocks and plants when not feeding or swimming. The tank is looking good and the fishes have settled in although I would like to expand my collection of fishes to include a Asian arowana, archers, tinfoil barbs, silver dollars (or their relatives) and maybe others. ATM I have a 4ft tank in use and a 8ft on the dry docks. I plan on getting more tanks (a 6ft and maybe another 4ft) whenever the opportunity arises, beside I have two fishes that's a must. The jardini (which I have now) and an Asian arowana which I am still searching for. The rest will be tank buddies to them (lucky we have solar panels installed, lol). Can anyone can assist me with finding an Asian arowana? not the south American arowana. Well again, I am stoked to be a part of this community and share the love. I hope you'll kind to this newbe.

  25. Hi members, To register for the qldaf christmas member night all you need to do is send a pm to me with the number of family and friends that will be attending, the numbers are needed to allow Redlands Pet Center to have enough goodies on hand for all the members that are attending, and also to make sure they have enough staff on hand to make the night run smoothly, regards,
