  1. Hi All, I have a 4ft tank with an old Jabao external filter which runs a bit rough, even stops for 5 seconds sometimes and then restarts! I'm thinking an fx5 would be good, or is it a bit too much? Any thoughts? Cheers.
  2. I have decided I don't have enough light going into my tank for my plants to grow the way I want them too. I don't think they're consuming the CO2 I am injecting, algae is still growing and it is generally frustrating. I am ditching my LEDs and I am considering going the tried and tested T5HO route. I was looking at getting a relatively cheap fixture from eBay, because I have already spent "too much" money according to my partner, if there even is such a thing I am wondering if this will do the trick? But I am thinking that 96watts going into a 20gallong (high) aquarium might be overdoing it a tad? 60cm 4 X 24W Aquarium T5 HO Grow Light Marine Reef Fish Tank 10000K Blue White | eBay Any input is greatly appreciated, cheers.
  3. so as above i had some time to kill and well this is what happened this is b4. quite happy with the new look, water needs abit of settleing but will come good
  4. Hi I have two external "Aqua 0ne" canisters 1400 and 1500lph for my 4ft tank (370 litres) along with sand and 16 african cichlids (4cm). After reading info online most comments are saying 4 times the volume of your tank should be enough. So thats worked out to be around 1500lph .. atm mine is 2900lph. but really theres not much turbulance in the tank due that i filled up my media in canisters and they have to pump hard to push the water up to nearly 2 metres high into the tank. ( the tank is pretty high above the ground) Otherwise I was planning to get two 2000lph canisters for 4 ft instead and use these 2x 1500lph for my two 3 ft tanks with peppermint BN trio soon (160litres each) So just asking are these lph canisters overkill for these tanks ? just concerned thats all. cheers
