  1. I like collecting and breeding natives as many of you know, but find it hard to get the time to collect or to make plans to do so especially organizing with others, alot of the time its on the spur of the moment or Im in an area doing something else, for example, a romantic weekend away and the traps just happen to be in the car and there is a nice looking creek nearby, or just going for a Sunday drive and a swim somewhere and again the traps are in the car. Also I have met so many people on here and Angfa through collecting and people acquiring and trading fish and plants that I forget who is who. So in the interest of natives, getting like minded people and beginners together(and me remembering who Ive fished with) this thread can be used to PM or contact others that have replied with their details here. Im in Pine Rivers and Mondays are usually best for me - PM me

  3. I'm Alex, I have at least 10 years in the hobby and I found a lot of good information here, so I decided to make part of this great community. I'll be very happy to contribute with my experience, if it's helpful.
  4. I've seen a few tanks that have these tree root like pieces of drift wood and they look great. I'm just wondering where people find/buy them? Has anyone had experience importing them? I understand they would need to be decontaminated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well I've now expanded my tank arsenal from 1 to now 3, I picked up two very nice tanks yesturday for my shrimps. I'm just wondering if later on I want similar looking tanks where would I go? I know shops like pet barn don't sell them. They are just 18"L x 9wx 9.5h rectangler tanks. As I am thinking later on I wanna build a rack but want identical tanks on it.
  6. Wednesday someone is coming to cut up some pieces of lattice panels to shape with an opening in the middle to place over the bathtub ponds, the opening in the centre of the lattice panels so plants that are in there can stick out, once those pieces are done and in place I'll look into ordering more fish for both tubs as I only have 3 Murray River Rainbows left in one tub and none in the other, so question is, what do I go with? Do I get more Murray River Rainbows, should I look into getting Threadfin Rainbows, Spotted Blue Eyes, Honey Blue Eyes, Empire Gudgeons.
  7. Just a heads up that AOA is back. Kudos to all who have stuck with us during the trials of the swap over. Lots of changes incoming, but for now we are almost back to where we were lol. Lot of good feedback has been reviewed. New systems setup, contacts made and changed. Plenty of bumps ahead, but times are good and we are going to have a lot of fun together
  8. After a few years away from my beloved discus and messing with a few different types of fish its time to think about a return to the only fish that really do anything for me So im wondering whats being bred by members on here!
  9. Hi all, this is the first fish forum I have be:eyebrows:en on. I have been breeding cichlids on and off for a while and to save on heating/power recently started mucking around with rainbow fish. Im concentrating on some unusual crimson bow's at the moment (not hybrids) and Im interested in getting some paradise fish as soon as I sort out my fish room. I have two oscars that are more like dogs/kids. Im on the lookout for some cracker paradise fish and dont mind travelling gold, sunshine coast brissy etc. Cheers Ryan
  10. Please share your experience on using Indian Almond leaf for conditioning and breeding fish? Is your money worth spending? I came across a new product by Tantora leaf- selling dried Guava leaf- good for antibacterial and food for shrimp too. also they sell dried mulburry leaf , banana leaf for shrimp food.I got these plant at my place and just wondering How much will you spend for 10 leaf? just for a poll. Any experience with charcoal bamboo using for shrimp too? Thanks in advance.
  11. Hey guys, so I recently started a thread about how many tanks people had running and no one bar me and one other person had a marine tank going ( that I know of ). So my question is why ? Are some people scared of the challenge ? It's really not even a challenge, like I say to customers at work, it's only hard if you make it hard. All it is really is a tank with salt water and a few extra bits of gear such as a skimmer. Don't make it hard on your self by buying all hard to care for corals and fish. It's like any tank, mod what you can do and know your limit.

  13. .I'm no pro by any means when it comes to shrimp and I accept the fact. I ask people who do know what they are talking about and I try and listen to their advice. I had some OEBTs for swap (preferably for Taiwan bee females). So a guy offers these two "TB" females as a swap... I tried... Also sent him a picture of my panda as a comparison and he said it is a mishling lol.
  14. I have a Male Electric Blue Crayfish I am going to sell on here, but I'm just not sure what price I should put up. Any Cluesss ?? He has also fertilized the female electric blue 2X times. I'm also hoping that no-one is going to rip me of

  16. So I have black gravel substrate and what used to be a heavily planted tank but I have cut back to a few crypts and drift wood Anubis and amazon swords cause I'm kind of over the plants these days... Had discus for around 2 years now and if you walk in the room they spaz out bounce off everything in the tank and hide ... Real sick of this and they should start paying for electricity and water cause I never get the privilege of seeing them...l water parameters haven't changed tank is spotless ... I spoke to a guy at AOA and he backed me on my future changes to a sandy bottom with nice drift wood and low light.... They used to have white gravel and that looked great as the blue diamons and Altum floras brought out their blues a lot better ..... He reckons this is more of their natural habitat ... Do I just stick it out and wait for them to chill the f*** out... Or sell them and get the red festae or green terrors I've always wanted ... All are beautiful fish and if I sit and wait they all come out ...but I hate a quiet tank

  25. Seems to be a fair few mature fish going at the moment, even before Techdens offer to the market! Are people over L's? Or is it that there are more L's around then ever and that is the reason for so many adults being sold? Steve
