  1. TODAY'S THE DAY Saturday July 9th Q.A.H. TWILIGHT MARKET DAY Set up from 4.00 pm Open to public 5.00 pm finishes 8.00pm. Bar Jai hall 178 Alexandra Road Clayfield. contact; Graeme Day 0402 841 627 for information and bookings. Hire of space $20.00 Depending on number of seller this may be reduced. Any Hobby related item may be sold. The seller can use all or part of the space allocated for the sale of items. Sellers to provide own tables, however if a table is needed one can be supplied at $5 per table. Be aware there are very limited tables available. Sellers can have a table or multiple tables but they must NOT spread outside the allocated area. If a seller requires more space they can take out a second space if available, otherwise they must refill the space from their car. Every Item sold MUST be priced. People can haggle over the price if they want, but for the benefit of the buyer there must be a price to start with Rules similar to the auction rules as far as size of fish and bagging of fish but with the number limits removed. So if you wanted to you could have 100 electric yellows for sale etc. No sick or deformed fish to be sold. How fish are displayed, sold and bagged is up to the seller But be aware that health and welfare of the fish is paramount and anyone who does the wrong thing will be asked to clean up their act ONCE and if they fail to rectify the situation will be asked to stop selling, pack up and leave. In this situation no refund would apply. No electrical goods of any kind to be sold. All chemicals must be sealed and not out of date No half empty containers. No gravels smaller than 10mm No potted plants unless potted in wool. Sellers MUST provide their own change. There are very limited sites with power. NOTE: Clubs and Shops welcome to put in tables. Williamson Pavilion Caboolture Show Grounds Beerburrum Road Caboolture This month's meeting will have the regular, Spawning’s, Losses and Acquisitions. and Fish of the Month. We also have guest in Nathan Busbridge, who will be giving a presentation on how to fix that broken or leaking tank. We will also be putting together an Equipment Register for all the club owned equipment. If you have anything that belongs to the club at home please bring it along to this meeting.

NOTE: There are a limited number of 2ft, 3ft and 4ft, tanks available for competitors to use, these will be made available on a first come basis. (i) Maximum of 2 competitive fish entries per tank. 3 competitive entries are permitted only when a combination of Fish entry plus any of, Community, Planted, Furnished and Novelty are entered. (j) Nominated fish MUST be measured by the stewards before installing in tank otherwise a maximum of 15 points will be awarded for size irrespective of the size of the fish (k) Classes 24, Design and Technique classes will be judged at 50 points for Design and 50 points for Technique. Fish will not count towards overall score. All plants, rocks, ornaments, filtration and gravel will be provided. Entries in these class are limited to 10. (l) All classes will be judged in accordance with QFAS judging criteria. (m) Any class with less than six entries may be combined with a similar class. (n) Fish to be judged MUST be nominated by competitor. No best in tank accepted. (o) Animals (any fish, invertebrate, amphibian or reptile) other than those nominated for judging may be included to improve the quality of the display. (p) Where permits are required for display of the species then copies of said permits must be given to the stewards before installation of entry. (q) When rare/new species are entered for judging, it is up to the competitor to provide supporting documentation. Otherwise the entry will be judged at the Chief Steward’s discretion. ® All entries are eligible for Best Display. (s) Any sick fish will not be judged. (t) Steward’s collective decision is final. (u) A copy of rules and standards will be available upon request at all times. (v) All entries must fit into supplied stands, no free standing entries admitted.     Welcome to Queensland Aquarium Hobbyist Inc. QLDAF Forum. Want to know more about the great hobby of Fish Keeping Then you should join other enthusiasts at - Queensland Aquarium Hobbyists Inc. We meet on the 4th Friday of every second month (starting with January) under the W.D. Williamson Pavilion at the Caboolture Show Grounds Beerburrum Rd Caboolture starting at 7:30pm. maps.google.com/maps At Queensland Aquarium Hobbyists meetings, We have guest speakers talking on a wide range of topics including, how to keep particular species of fish, showing fish, general maintenance, setup of tanks, aquarium husbandry and other fish related topics. Meetings also consist of a combination of the following: presentations by club members, Fish of Month talks, Spawnings Losses and Aquisitions, Slide shows, Videos, hands-on workshops and because the club considers the social part of the club to be very important plenty of time to just sit and chat. As enthusiasts with a common passion we can learn from each others experiences whether it be optimally maintaining a single tank or breeding that difficult to spawn species. Members come from all walks of life and meet in a social atmosphere to enhance their own knowledge and have a bit of fun. You never know when you will meet that person that has a key piece of information that can help you. Every Second month instead of a meeting we have either workshops, collecting trips or other social outings. We also hold other events such as: Aquarium & Fish Shows, Camping weekends and Auctions. Membership is $25.00 for three (3) years. There is no junior membership anyone under the age of 15 is welcome to attend free. Membership also entitles the member to a club shirt. If competitors wish to decorate their tank to help keep fish happy then that is up to them. Classes are as follows: 1 Australian & New Guinea Rainbows, Sunfish & Blue Eyes 2 Australian & New Guinea Gobies, Gudgeons, Catfish & AOV Native 3 Goldfish all varieties 4 Livebearers all species 5 Anabandits & Fighters - all species 6 Tetras, Barbs, Danios & Rasboras 7 Catfish 8 African & Asian Cichlids 9 North & Central American Cichlids 10 South American Cichlids 11 AOV Tropical Freshwater 12 Amphibians, Invertebrates & Crustaceans 13 Marine Fish 14 Marine Invertebrates Note : Classes with less than 6 entries will be combined where possible Prizes and Awards Entry Fee - $3.00 per entry. Ist overall - $250.00 2nd overall - $150.00 3rd overall - $100.00 4th overall - $50.00 Certificates for Ist, 2nd and 3rd in each class. No free standing displays accepted. Maximum of two (2) competitive Entries per tank. You are allowed other fish in the tank to improve the display or to keep the entered fish from stressing. Fish to be judged must be nominated by competitor. No best in tank accepted. Nominated fish MUST be measured by the stewards before installing in tank otherwise a maximum of 15 points will be awarded for size irrespective of the size of the fish. Where permits are required for display of the species then copies of said permits must be given to the stewards before installation of entry. It is the responsibility of the competitor to provide supporting documentation to the stewards prior to installation of the entry. Where new/rare species are entered this is extremely important. All entries must be removed between 1.30pm and 6.00pm on Sunday 27th March All care is taken with entries, but QAH accepts no responsibility for any loss or damages incurred during the show. INTERCLUB CHALLANGE At the same time as the Caboolture Market Show is happening there will also be an InterClub Challange taking place. This will be open to ALL Clubs Clubs can nominate up to 7 fish, that their members have entered into the show. Nomination of fish to be done prior to Judging. At the end of Judging the scores for these fish will be used to deterine the winner of the Challenge. The way this will be done is to remove the highest and lowest scoring fish from each clubs nominated fish and total the remaining with the highest total being the winner. Clubs will also be allowed to put up posters advertising their club and have club members man the stand on the Sunday to promote their club to the public.   18. I justed wanted to give a quick thanks to all the guys n girls who gave their time lastnight at the auction. It seemed to me that it ran smoother than spring hill, with the walk up n collect your item system. Barbie was a good idea, as everyone loves a sausage in bread. I ended up buying alot more than i was planning too, luckily i was up the front so i didnt have far to walk. Looking forward to the next already. So a big CHEERS for all QAH people. Matt.

If you are in the area of this club make it along it was excellent to discuss with these guys different methods of doing things. There is alot of experience in this club amongst the members and a lot of willingness to learn and teach this is what club is supposed to be. Once again thanks to Cary, Graeme and the group. Nominated fish MUST be measured by the stewards before installing in tank otherwise a maximum of 15 points will be awarded for size irrespective of the size of the fish. Where permits are required for display of the species then copies of said permits must be given to the stewards before installation of entry. Where new/rare species are entered it is the responsibility of the competitor to provide supporting documentation to the stewards prior to installation of the entry. All entries must be removed between 1.30pm and 6.00pm on Sunday 25th October. All care is taken with entries, but QAH accepts no responsibility for any loss or damages incurred during the show.
