  1. Hello QLDAF, At Pet City we have incorporated a card system for the QLDAF members. This card will allow you to still get the 10% OFF aquarium livestock. This system aims to help make things easier and quicker (after the initial sign up) and to make everyone's lives better. To receive a QLDAF - Pet City Discount Card either: A) Fill out a form from the aquarium department in store or Send an email to marketing@petcity.com.au with the following details: - Name (full name please) - Forum Alias - Mobile Number - Email (if different from the one sent from) - A short statement saying you agree to the terms and conditions listed below. Note: The card may take several business days to make and be available at the Aquarium Department - however the discount is available at time of purchase, and from then on the card must be used. Thanks! Terms and Conditions: 1. Card must be presented at time of purchase to receive the discounts, and must be valid. 2. Valid only for card holder (name will be on front of card). 3. Pet City Club Members still receive an additional discount. 4. Only valid in store. 5. Exemptions may apply. 6. Terms and Conditions are subject to change.
  2. Online - Please mention your QLDAF Username in the shipping instructions section on your online order form or when placing the order over the phone - 07 3800 5592. We charge all credit cards manually so we will adjust the total on our end. Also just to clarify the 10% discount is valid across the whole store excluding " Deal of the day " Specials unless otherwise noted. The only scenario where you do not receive your discount on a product is when we have already priced matched / beaten a competitor on that item. Ben
  3. Due to popular demand (and mostly @none) we are reviving the QLDAF Auctions. We will hold them at 3 month intervals. There are some changes coming to the rules..... Targeting weekend of 16/17 July. Watch for more information, and start hoarding your fish and your $$$$$
  4. Big thanks to those supporting the auctions with your lots. Bidding starts tonight, so get your lots in by 7.00 pm
  5. Welcome store owners. QLDAF recognises that good stores are hard to find. The stores that give good advice tend to as they are hobbyists first and foremost. Stores have been on QLDAF from the start. The rules have been changed to recognise stores. All stores may have there business name as there user name. This way members can know who is giving good advice. Store owners who are not sponsors are not allowed to sell goods in the trader or advertise. They are however allowed to participate in our three monthly auctions. Full rules are here: http://www.qldaf.com/forums/welcome-room-beginners-corner-22/forum-guidelines-77084/ Consideration to those who want to get full value out of QLDAF and support the forum by sponsorship will be given to member stores first. So welcome all Aquarium Store Owners.
  6. Hi, Been in and out of fish keeping for about 40 years. Getting back into keeping fish again and have started with a Rainbow setup. Originally from Cape Town. My fish highlights: 7900 fish shipment from Peru, and included my favorite fish, wild Altum Angels Spending time with and meeting Stuart Grant. Spent a couple of days at he's main holding facility on Lake malawi. Every fish I have ever bred has been a highlight for me. Great to be part of this community and have already met some awesome people while collecting Rainbows. Cheers
  7. http://www.qldaf.com/forums/qldaf-events-calendar-announcements-38/qfas-market-day-satudary-9th-july-129874/ I am happy to pay for a stall for QLDAF members to sell at the auction day. The last one seemed like a great event and a lot of fish changed hand. If I have a handful of members who wish to bring some fish and sell them, we will do this. A great chance to get together and have a chat. You will need to bring some change with you for the buying public. (To state the obvious, if you have lots of fish to sell get a stall (they are dirt cheap). Can anyone interested please reply below or shoot me a message. Steve
  8. After a lot of life getting in the way of fish I'm back up on the gold coast at Upper Coomera & looking forward to get back into aquatic things Still got a few Tanganyikans, even some Lepto Mpimbwe to sell haha Hi to all & I'll see you round the forum Cheers, Pete
  9. Hello, ive just got into the aquarium thing. Currently have a 2ft tank with a 480L/h hang onside filter as my filtration I have 4 redclaw crayfish that range from 4cm to 7cm, 2 swordtails an a small albino longfin. In the past 3 weeks 2 of the crayfish have shed their shells/skins whatever they're called, so I assume that is a good thing??? My question is, what water quality range do I need to keep the water at? Could I fit anymore fish in there? I'd like 2 silver sharks or another bristlenose or albino longfin. My day job is running potable water treatment plants so I have a fair idea on how to test and treat water but I'm assuming Fish tanks are a tad different. Thanks for any help an advice. Gene.
  10. If your answer is "yes" why? If your answer is "no" why not? I know it's not a big deal question, but just wondering why the forum has gone quiet. Of the more than 16000 members how many will respond? Will the members who only use the trading sections answer? I would say "no" because they wouldn't read this.
  11. QLDAF is moving...... We are moving the forum to a new server. The forum has had some slow times and caused dreaded chat-lag. Chatters have noticed and have been heard to say chat lags particularly around 10.00 pm. While that is past my bedtime, we need to address this. To combat this we are moving to a secure solid state server with monitored security. The expectation is this will give us 10x the current speeds. This will come at a cost, so we are declaring the move towards 10 Sponsors. That means there are 4 spots open. If you own a store, and are interested, or if you know a great store who is interested let them know that spots are available. We already have some applicants, but want to ensure that the correct choice is made to ensure that they are focused on our members, and also compliment the values and standard are existing sponsors have set. Applications are to be made confidentially to either myself or webmaster.... feel free to send a PM or give us a call. Please do not reply here. Please bear with us during the move.... hopefully we all survive to the other side.....

We have our Who We Are Post: http://www.qldaf.com/forums/welcome-room-beginners-corner-22/who-we-77959/ We have our rules: http://www.qldaf.com/forums/welcome-room-beginners-corner-22/forum-guidelines-77084/ We also have guidelines for admin and mods reproduced below. What would you write in as members guidelines? How do you think hobbyists should treat other hobbyists.... After all this board and indeed all other platforms only exists for the hobbyist.

  18. The admin and moderators of QLDAF are always planning for the future. Since it is a given that NSW will win not only tomorrow but for the foreseeable future, we are making changes 1. QLDAF will become NSWAF 2. The red is too close to maroon, so the default forum colour will be blue 3. Any moderator found supporting QLD will be removed 4. All members of QCG will be removed for those dodgy maroon shirts Have fun.........
  19. What do you think? Do we sack all the moods? Should mods post more? Do you like Hot Topic Friday? Competitions? Chat room is back due to members asking - how can we use it better? Posted from here:

  23. As of today the QLDAF Trader will have an automated closure system to prevent unnecessary resurrection of old threads. What this means is that after 30days of no discussion on a sales thread it will automatically CLOSE If you are unsuccessful with your sale during 30days and your thread closes my advice would be to carefully rethink as to why. Some suggestions would be Clearer Pictures, Price Reduction, Clear description ect
