  1. .Hey all I've noticed my fish are like slapping themselves against the gravel in my tank water is ok just wondering wat it is also they like swimming in the bubbles alot like they having a massage I guess any help would be appreciated
  2. I have lost a few of my electric yellows with sunken belly and a couple of other larger yellows without the sunken belly. I have tried seperating the sunken belly fish and feeding them up with a tablet the LFS gave me to grind up and mix with a shot of vodka into my food to bind the two with no luck. I also notice the fish seem to be scratching themselves against the gravel. Would this be itch? I have been searching online but am still confused. I raised the temperature of my tank to 30 yesterday as I read doing this for 7 days can kill off the parasites. Any help is greatly appreciated! I dont want to loose any more fish
  3. The last few days I've noticed one of my discus scratching herself on plants in the tank. She seems to be the only one doing it at the moment. The annoying thing is that it's only been a couple of weeks since we treated all of our fish, so I can't beleive they'd have any problems. We treated with fluke and tapeworm tablets, and also big L. The treatment seemed to have a bad effect on our bacteria as we had nitrite problems afterwards, so I wouldn't like to have to treat again. Does anyone know if discus can just have a bit of an itch, or if this is likely to be a parasite problem? Would be really grateful for any advice. Thanks
  4. Hey guys The last week or 2 Iv noticed some of my saulosi and pulpican skimming off the sand a bit, on their side. First thing I thought is Ich but no visible signs at all. Fish look healthy and behave fine. Iv read on the net that this skimming can be normal behaviour. Is this true?? Matt.
  5. Hi guys just curious to know what are the possible reasons why fish would scratch and clamp their fins. My fronnys used to do it a fair bit though after I brought my aqua one 1250 external filter it's been less noticeable would that of been the problem? Inadequate filtration.
