1. Are you keeping fish that like soft water? Well, we have the product for you!!! Macropore Gold.... it's the Ion-exchange resin that softens your water!! It will also remove hydrated lime, polish your water and remove tannins!!! Wow!!! Perfect for fish like Discus, Apisto's, L-Number Catfish, Angels, Barbs, South American Dwarf species, Tetra's and Rams. It's fantastic for your shrimp tanks too!! Just place it in a media bag and put it somewhere water will flow through it like an internal filter or a canister. Can be recharged. This product really is amazing. It would also work really well being run in conjunction with Macropore White. Click on the link below to add one to your shopping cart today!! http://www.thetechden.com.au/Macropore_Gold_Water_Softener_1Litre_p/mpg1l.htm
2. I got back on to Facebook last week (much to my disgust) as my mate is getting married tomorrow and all the photos are going to be put up into a private page for all invited to see, so now that I have created an account again, I thought I'd use it to suss out pages, groups on native Australian fish, shrimp, plants that are getting around, can people suggest a few off the top of their heads? LukeEggler?
3. Hi, Finally, I have purchased enough to set up a fully planted high tech with CO2 (need more lights) shrimp and goldfish setup. This can allow me heavily feed my goldfish like pigs, their ... feeds the filter, and the filter feeds my plants. Shrimps are cleaner. Of course, no heater to save $$$ on power. How good is that? I will upload pic tonight lol
4. So i finally pulled the trigger yesterday and bought a new 10gal to update my shrimp tank. Managed to bag some cheap seiryu stone as well so thought id get going on my first proper scape. My aim was to make a scape that didnt need all the bells an whistles and could be made with what was easily and (relatively) cheap and available. Running a basic aquamanta HOB with 2 clip in Animates LED and going to be dosing Excel every other day and trace elements and iron every water change. Currently has about 20 RCS and 2 endlers though going to change the endlers out for some smaller school. Not sure what yet. Its a basic black gravel (wanted to try something other than BDBS) with seiryu stone, some gold vine nano driftwood pieces, java moss, subwassertang, riccia and micranthenum minte carlo. Goong to be filling in the top of the cliff with a bushier plant, still unsure what that will be though. Would love to hear your thoughts! - Fuzzy Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
5. I had to move my shrimp Tank Into garage I drained most the water out and left a couple of inches in there with the shrimp. I moved them in and re filled with the same water and added some new water to it. Instantly I had 1 death and lots of loss of colour, I tested the water last night and I had 6.6ph, 0.25 ammonia this might be the problem, and 0 nitrites. Today I had another death. Any ideas on how to stop this? I think the ammonia might be from the Ada soil that got shaken up

Now, my son wants a fish tank, but he gets emotional at the loss of a pet, so i'd like to start him with shrimp as its almost impossible to get attached to one, will be stsrting with something like an ar 620 set up, plan on using black sand/fine gravel and some nice rocks and timber/vine with plenty of java moss, anything major i need to know or do? And what is a good food for shrimp? Are there any small fish that are shrimp friendly? Cheers
9. Hey all, I've not kept shrimp before but would be interested in getting some nice ones - really like the look of the panda and cherry coloured ones and was wondering how they go in tanks with other fish... especially say.. A mid-sized Angel fish and other bottom feeder fish etc. Is there anything I should consider here? I have a tonne of plants in the tank - reckon they'd go OK? Cheers

16. Hello all I am wanting to keep some shrimps, I've had low grade rcs before but have now started back up and want high grade reds, and Crs. The Tank I have is a 4 x 18 x 18. It's been running for a full week tomorrow. Has a Aqua one 1000 canister filter hooked up as well as a small sponge filter, normal gravel and a decent sized drift wood/rocks with moss and subwassatang or however it's spelt oh and chain sword plants. Temp is normally 22-27 degrees. Tank has had stability liquid added to it first couple of days I havnt tested it yet but I am doing a 20% water change tomorrow so I'll test the water this afternoon sometime. Does this set up sound okay for shrimps? is there any secrets into keeping quality shrimps ? And lastly is there anyone in Brisbane area who has quality high grade red cherrys or crs for sale. Lastly id love your feedback or general info you may have cheers

21. Hi All, was wondering if anyone has come across this before. I have bought several lots of feeder shrimp and put in my tanks as live food for my fish and to maybe get enough to breed. Problem is that about an hour later I find heaps of dead shrimp most intact some not so intact but they look like they have been cooked, carccasses are red. Water temp in the 6' tank ranges between 27.5 - 28.5 C. In my 5' tank temp is lower ranging 24.5 - 26.5 C. The fish seem to leave the 'cooked' shrimp alone only chasing the live ones. Water pH is 6.8, water is soft, water is clear apart from tannin colour. All fish seem happy and active. Any suggestions????
22. Went fishing today. Caught some juveniles. They have red nippers very long and clear bodies. Also got some that have extended noses and small nippers. Have i got baby river prawns? Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
23. Ok ive got red cherries that my bgks absolutely love as a snack ,but ive been thinkin of putting my empty 2 ft tanks to some use . Was thinking of a shot at crs or cbs or something else shrimpy, but unsure of ideal ph ,gh etc Also whats the best way to maintain the ph ? Whats best substrate ? All that sort of stuff Temp isnt a problem my tanks downstairs never get above 24 even in mid summer Are sponges best filters?, i would think they would carry organisms the shrimp feed on cos my cherries seem to be all over their sponge filter Any info is greatly appreciated cos the internet just pours out too many variables and i reckon most sites plugging stuff they say is best are owned by the suppliers or manufacturers smicko , Daydream @ Brissy damn i put post here by accident ,was looking at who bred shrimp !@Webmaster gingerbeer can one of you guys put it in the shrimp section and remove from here thx
