  1. Where is the best aquarium store in Brisbane? I have been doing most of my purchases from Exotic Connections Rocklea near the Brisbane Markets. But I find that store to be small and does not have any variety. Its stock is alright, but the variety is limited to the basic freshwater fish, and even lacks some of those. I live in the south west suburbs (Indooroopilly, Toowong) etc. I don't want to travel to the outer rural regions. Whilst on a holiday to melbourne, I visited the LFS, it was 80m long, underground store with so many tanks, so many varieties of fish, aswell as supplies etc. They even sold rare bettas for $25. The type you get imported for $40+. And it made me sad because I have never seen any shops like those in brisbane that I know of. Also would like some cherry shrimp... any sellers close to those suburbs mentioned? reply below
  2. Welcome store owners. QLDAF recognises that good stores are hard to find. The stores that give good advice tend to as they are hobbyists first and foremost. Stores have been on QLDAF from the start. The rules have been changed to recognise stores. All stores may have there business name as there user name. This way members can know who is giving good advice. Store owners who are not sponsors are not allowed to sell goods in the trader or advertise. They are however allowed to participate in our three monthly auctions. Full rules are here: http://www.qldaf.com/forums/welcome-room-beginners-corner-22/forum-guidelines-77084/ Consideration to those who want to get full value out of QLDAF and support the forum by sponsorship will be given to member stores first. So welcome all Aquarium Store Owners.
  3. Looks like another great store is closing down. R&J Aquatics in Lismore is closing today at 5.00 pm. If you are in the area duck in and grab some bargains and help them out. Address is 91 Magellan St Lismore. John and Rheia ran a fantastic store and were pure hobbyists, running a rescue service for fish from there store. They walked the walk in terms of the ethic of fish keeping, and are always happy to advise the new hobbyist or the experienced. We certainly wish them the best as John, Rheia and the kids work towards the next steps in life. Give them a hug from QLDAF.

  19. Hi, thanks for reading. I am merely putting out my feelers via this thread, however i would consider buying a preexisting aquarium buisiness if the right opportunity came along. So if your looking to sell, speaking to someone who is looking to sell, or hear something through the grapevine, please inbox me or call 0403596510. I'm sure this thread will turn into a business discussion, go nuts. Thanks in advance

  25. some of you may be aware allready i'm guessing but maryanne's aquarium browns plains is closing at the end of november. to the best of my knowledge all of the store stock tanks have been sold (i got a few) but i'm lead to believe dennison will be doing some "specials" on remaining stock till closing. maybe able to pick up a few bits n bobs at a decent price ? he's a great mate and it's sad to see but it's a strange and uncertain economic climate and some adaption is required. he will still be making tanks at a great price but wont be trading as a fuctioning aquarium store unfortunately
