I use Eheim and Aquael submersible pumps. However, I have been considering switching to Grundfos UPS series pumps. So I'm looking for pros and cons either way. Anyone have an opinion or preference one way or the other? Thanks, Rob

Hi guys just a question for the AQUA ZONIC EVO E08 SUBMERSIBLE WATER PUMP, it says it puts out 6000 LPH with a max head height of 5.5m but just wondering how much water it would put out with a head height of 1.5m? I can find the charts online anywhere. Also is this pump a good pump for a 4ft sump for an 8x2x2 fishtank or should i use the nxt size down? I have 2 x 1.5" overflows on the maintank.

Hi guys, I am on the hunt for a sump pump (preferably adjustable) that has a flow rate between 2000 and 3000Lph. But I'd like to be as small as possible in width. The ones I've found so far seem to be around the same width 85mm (Tunze, Eheim, Hydor seltz) Does anyone know of one a pump that is narrower than 85mm? Thanks, Beau.

Does anyone know of any Submersible LED lights or, LED strips (preferably white) that would fit in a small fish bowl. I was thinking of maybe a flexible LED strip that can be wrapped around the inside of the bowl But if anyone else has any other ideas of how to light up a 20cm fish bowl from the inside would be great!

Hi, I currently have a 1050l/hr pump running in a sump setup, into a 250l, 4ft tank. My question is, on the box it said that at 1m, the flow rate was 170l/hr. Now the outlet for the return hose would be about 1m above the pump. Does that mean that this 1050l/hr pump is actually only pumping 170l/hr into the tank?? That doesn't really seem right, there seems to be a fair bit of water draining into the sump, my guess is it's more than 170l/hr. Mick

What brand do you use? What "size" is it as in l/h, wattage and headheight. I'm pretty sure what size I need (or am going with) and have sourced a pump but have not yet bought it. Some of these pumps chew a lot of power and some are just plain expensive. The pump I have found after doing a fair amount of research into submersible pumps is the Devil Diablo 4000. Does anyone have experience with this brand of pump? I see that Guppies Aquarium Products Online stocks them up to the 4000. I thought they had bigger but not any longer if they did.

Hi, Need some advise .... I'm about to start another background project for my fancy goldfish 3 foot tank. I want to incorporate a small red LED in it (for exactly what I which to keep to myself until I know it is feasible). The led will be submersed and placed in the background shining upwards towards the top of the tank. I have found some on E-bay (link below) but they don't seem to come with a power adapter. Has anyone tried something like this? Or what do I need to consider so that it 1) works!; 2) doesn't electrocute me Link: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400171973526&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
