  2. These are some of the best aquascapes I have seen.
  3. I have been racking my brain to work out what to get the mrs for chrissy, i was thinking of starting up my fluval spec v 19l tank again to grow mosses and some small FW fish but then i saw pics of fluval spec v's that had been converted to marine to nano reef tanks so i thought, while it may be a late present im sure the mrs would LOVE a nano reef in the bathroom. So now, here comes the questions. Filtration, Im assuming the inbuilt pump and filtration isnt suitable for a reef tank, from some light research it seems live rock and sand is a big part of filtration on a marine tank. What do i do for filtration for such a small tank? Lighting, the stock lights are fairly low on these, for a 19l what kind of lighting would i need? Live stock, im planning on using some small corals, tube worms, christmas worms or something along those lines and if possibly some inverts and 2-3 small colorful fish, gobies, blennys or something like that. This will be my first venture into marine so the more advice here the better
  4. Hi All, I am thinking of changing my tank to cichlids,so far the one of main interest is the Electric Yellow ( that's what I been it googling under). I can find most information on the net, type of scape, water parameters, behavior etc. Before I get to the stage of yes I want to do this,I need some advice please. My tank is a community one. It is 240 ltrs, one external 1000lph filter, one under the hood type 1000 ltrs per hr( though the top filter def has lot less flow) Substrate is swimming pool sand, plants are Java Fern, anubias and a fair bit of mosses on rocks/driftwood, I also have small pots covered in moss. The tank has been running well for last 18mths,no major problems. I was wondering if I would be able to keep the moss/plants/rocks/pots and the same substrate in the tank still. I have also become some what attached to a breeding pair of BN 70mm long, plus a mix of bronze and pepper corydora ( 6) plus one clown loach 90mm. Would I have problems keeping all or any of those? A few things I have read suggests that to keep my fish they really need to be bigger,so I do not want to think because they are not small ( by comparison to my other community fish ) they would be okay. Only to see them stressed. Many thanks.

  10. I have a 4ft 1.5ft 2ft tank it has been running for 3mths now and havent had a problem yet till now. I do 25% water changers once a week. Ph is about 7, ammonia 0 nitrate 0 I have got one of my spray bars pumping oxygen into the tank and it's sitting at around 26 degrees. I have about 4500lph total of canister filtering it which was cleaned about 4weeks ago. Lighting is 4x4ft t5 for 8hrs. Stock 6 ellioti 3 firmouth 6 blue eye cichlids 4 red tailed goodieds 1 bristlenose 3 Hokaki carfish. I have noticed as these fish are getting bigger they are getting more and more aggressive. At the moment I think I have a pair of blue eyes and firemouths trying to breed and are bossing everything around. The ellioti are now chasing each other quite offen and I have one which has been breathing heavily for the last 2 days. To date I've lost on goodied and a catfish and don't want to loss more any suggestions??
