  2. Hi Guys Can anyone recommend good quality **** if possible see through *** plastic tubs to be used as small plant growing tanks. im going to setup a project in the cavity above my main tank ( its in a cupboard) will build a solid shelf to take the weight of a few maybe 20L tubs and ill have main tank water pumping up into them then gravity fed through them back out to my main tank. Will have LED lighting for them. Just want to know if anyone is using plastic tubs as sumps or fuges or even small tanks.. Regards Aron
  3. After a year or so of neglect, it is time to start cleaning up the yard. Today, my eyes turned to the old set of triple laundry tubs in the front yard that I have been using as a planter. I think they would make a ripper pond/growout for when I start breeding natives (blue eyes and 'bows) it gets 4 hours of full morning sun, then shade for the rest of the day. What do you think? Will I need filtration? Sealing? I plan to add some kind of aquatic plant to each section. Anything I need to be wary of?
  4. Sorry...wrong section...
  5. hi all I am looking for some advice I currently have a pair of BN longfins plecos witch have succesfully breed a few times now in my community and and am looking to breed them longterm. Though i would like to move the fry to a grow out tank or tub till they are big enough to sell. My question are. What size tank or tub should i get that will be suitable to do this. I have just started breed fish and so far i have sold about 40 bn plecos . lol i think this is the start of an addiction thanks michael
  6. curious how many people have or are using Large plastic tubs as grow out tanks for there fish? If you use a heater and a sponge will that be enough in them? Will the heater melt the plastic over time? is it better to use larger tubs say 90liters + so you dont have to clean them as much as you would your fish tank? anyone with first hand experience on the matter would be great. Thanks in advance.
  7. Was out and about today and saw these tubs and thought they'd be good for seperating new fry for the first part of they're life, before they go into a grow out tank. So now i have a task of building a timber rack to hold them all. They are 15 litres each. Cost a whoping $2.99 each so I lashed out and bought 12. I'm just going to drill holes in them and get some fittings to flow them back to my sump so that they all run off the same water as my tanks =) If it all goes well i might find some bigger to go with them. =)

  9. Hi there all Just a quick question - what's the best way to clean water tubs? I've just bought a 60L water tub/container from Bunnings and have washed it with just the hose. Will this be enough? This tub will be used to store water for water changes. Thanks in advance
