  5. This is for the avid geo enthusiasts/keepers I bought a breeding colony of 7 geophagus sp. Tapajos 3 weeks ago. All seven went in fine and settled with only a few split fins from the move. The next day I noticed one of the geos was really dark and was showing its stress lines. It sat hovering above a piece of driftwood constantly. except when it got chased away. and did the same for a couple of days. I then found it dead on the bottom of the tank when I woke up the next morning ( tanks in my room ) I've done two 50% water changes since as per norm. Last night I found one of what I believed to be a male resting on the sand. and thought it must have being there guarding an area to breed. And this morning I found it dead on the bottom of the tank. Other tank inhabitants are 6 small blue rams and 3 medium angels. Water parameters are: Temp 28.5 Ph. 6.8 nitrate under 20ppm ammonia 0ppm Hardness 40ppm Any help would be great as I haven't got a clue on this one.

  10. Help from anyone who has any ideas. I have a 6x1x18" tank that is full of 1 inch featherfins growing out. I've come home from work and found two dead on the bottom and all the rest gasping heavily. A full bag of 1000 rubber bands had fallen into the tank some how and i have pulled it out, i suspect that is the problem but how. I did a 90% water change immediately from an 7x2.5x2 next to it so the same temp and both tanganyikan tanks, and alas i have lost another 3 in the last hour and the rest are still all gasping. So, i have just caught them all out and put them in a 20lt bucket with a large sponge filter from a different tank, and all new water from out of one of the tropheus tanks and another tang display tank. Any ideas i would appreciate it greatly, any medication or anything you can suggest please. Cheers, Andrew.
