==========================

Ad Konings has probably dived in the great lakes of Africa many more times than anybody other than the local fish collectors and all of them have only dived in either lake Malawi or lake Tanganyika depending on where hey live.

His first book was Ad Konings Tanganyika Cichlids that was published by Verduijn Cichlids and Lake Fish Movies in 1988. This was followed in 1989 with Malawi Cichlids in their Natural Habitat. Since them he has written and filled with numerous photographs Celebrating Cichlids from Lakes Malawi and Tanganyika, Back to Nature Guide to Malawi Cichlids by Ad Konings, Back to Nature Guide to Tanganyika Cichlids by Ad Koning, Malawi Cichlids in Their Natural Habitat (now up to a fourth edition), Tropheus in their natural Habitat and for TFH Publications Konings' Book of Cichlids and All the Other Fishes of Lake Malawi and moving away from Africa Cichlids from Central America by Ad Konings. He has also edited and contributed to The Cichlid Yearbook Volumes 1 to 6 and both Editions of Enjoying Cichlids. Ad’s latest three publications are only available as E-Books being Malawi Peacocks, Featherfins in their natural habitat and The Cichlids of Lake Malawi National Park.

Articles by Ad Konings are in most issues of Practical Fishkeeping and issue of Cichlid News Magazine.

Hopefully Ad will have a new book with him when he visits us next year.

===================

Juan Miguel Artigos Azas is mostly known to us as the creator of the Cichlid Room Companion website. The Website has been around since 1996 and by 1997 it has as much information as 900 A4 printed pages, Now it contains so much more information. The main feature of site is the lists, species descriptions and quality pictures of thousand of cichlid species. For a $30.00 annual subscription there is access to the rest site including in-depth articles and species profiles, interviews and breeding articles. There also is a forum on the site and the Ask Pam section moderated by Pam Chin.

Juan Miguel’s articles on central American cichlids can be found in various issues of Cichlid News Magazine and other publications.

=================

Spencer Jack’s first introduction to some of the members of the Queensland Cichlid Group was at the Victorian Cichlid Society's 40th year celebration in Melbourne where he talked on The Gymnogeophagus of Uruguay and Confessions of a Cichlaholic

Spencer has been active within the aquaria hobby since the age of five. A true "cichlidiot", he had worked exclusively with cichlids for over twenty years. He has since expanded his horizons to include all types of tropical fish.

Spencer has been an active hobbyist within Winnipeg for a number of years. Some of his roles within the fish hobbyist community include:

Co-founder of the Aquarium Society of Winnipeg (1989)

Founder and President of the Canadian Cichlid Association (2000)

Spencer now owns and operates a tropical fish wholesale business, The aFISHionados, and is still an avid fishkeeper and breeder.

Spencer's enthusiasm, humour and dedication towards the aquarium hobby is easily witnessed through his lectures. All of Spencer's lectures are full multimedia presentations using PowerPoint, and almost all of the pictures in use are original pictures taken by Spencer during his years in the hobby and travels across North, South, and Central America.

Spencer is a part of the American Cichlid Association speakers program.
