If its an internal bacterial infection, an antibacterial med is going to be a sound course of action.

In Africans its not a good sign as can indicate a serious internal injury, with fluid building up.

The infamous "bloat" can often start with an eye popping a bit.

If fish doesnt look like it is going to make it, its worth removing and humanely euthanizing them.

Brutal I know, but if it dies and other fish eat the corpse, it will likely spread to them.

Situations like this are a good chance to setup a hospital tank.

The reduced water volume will make medication treatments less expensive.

You also dont have to worry about staining display tank silicon, or effecting catfish.

A picture helps a lot.
