eclipse 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2014 Hey guys, so I was checking my jungle of a tank today and found this one. Im a bit confused on grading shrimps so especially reds. Would you say she is a fire red or just a really red red cherry? Lol I dont keep red cherries by the way so how did she get there???
smicko 329 Report post Posted September 6, 2014 Unfortunately if it came from rilli it's a cull, it will throw rilli babies. No rilli's breed 100 per cent true yet to Which is a shame as it's a nice shrimp. Cheers mick

eclipse 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 Yeah I was thinking that maybe it was a throwback from its fire red ancestor shrimps. Lol
smicko 329 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 You could pull them out and back breed the rilli gene out of them and once they breed true for 5-6 generations you would have red cherry. There is no money to be made from red cherries even if they are fire grade but it would be a bit of fun and that's what the hobby is all about. Cheers mick
eclipse 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 Im not very confident I have the patience for that but I will give it a go. As long as theyre breeding then thats fine enough for me.
