aquaholic99 Posted November 3, 2014 Report Share Posted November 3, 2014 If you want to retain pressure ( for deep depth tanks ) use PVC pipe. 40 or 50mm if you can afford it. If you have shallow tanks, it won't matter provided your pump has plenty of air volume. Air pumps have dramatically dropped in price so most people oversize air pumps. 19 or 25 mm poly pipe is most commonly used. Just make sure you release any back pressure to extend life of your pump diaphram. And have spares or a back up pump if this is your main filter for most tanks.
