Peggles.a
I have a number of tanks and am probably not really a beginner but I am if it comes to healing rather than letting fish die. Came home tonight and spotted this neon on the bottom of the tank breathing very fast. Can swim. Came up for food but didn't seem to eat much before returning to the bottom of the tank on the other side. Any thoughts? [/img]

Heintz.G
Have a look at this site, sounds like it might be neon tetra disease. Neon Tetra Disease
Donny@ageofaquariums
I realise light gravel makes neons very light in colour........ but looking at the others, I would still be looking into your water quality. It may be nothing, but if there is something amiss, this could be the first cassualty of many.
none
The above advice is all solid. The fish is very full in the belly so to eliminate simple constipation I'd add a small amount of epson salts (pm me with your tank size for quantity). Epson salts is mild on the fish and certainly far milder than any medication.
peterw
I'd add a small amount of epson salts It's Epsom salts. Epsom, Surrey, England where the salts occur naturally. Nothing to do with a Japanese electronics company.
