Christmas
.Hey guys, I'm currently stocking my cichlid tank and am curious as to whether I can possibly keep t. ikola with peacocks? I've done research which says obviously I should keep peacocks with only peacocks or yellow labs but there is mixed opinions on the aggressiveness of tropheus ikola, does anyone knows how they might be? thanks for your replies
jcumpstay
I think they would be OK in respect to aggression, however remember that Tropheus are vegetarians and need a diet high in spirulina flake. Also you don't want to overfeed T's as its welcoming bloat which you really don't want!
Christmas
Awesome thanks very much, I already feed high veg protein but supplement with carnivore flakes. Thanks heaps for your input
inflames09
if u plan to breed tropheus then keeping them with other fish is a big no no , tropheus love the high ph I always keep mine 8.9 to 9 ph, u run the risk of fighting they can get very teratorial
jcumpstay
I find that pH does need to be mildly high and definitely stable, however its keeping GH and KH in range that my Tropheus really seem to appreciate...
Christmas
Not interested in breeding for now so that should be all sweet, my waters already buffered to 8.3 ph and gh 14 so hopefully that will be okay or would you recommend a bit higher for the gh?
