Donny@ageofaquariums
Even mbuna can handle a bit more protein when small and growing. but what I look for in foods for a growth boost is the fat %.

none
Africans grow rapidly at 26 to 28 degrees. 1cm in three months is a real worry if your water is within that range. I feed my fish under 2cm 4 times a day and fish that size twice a day and I get around 1cm of growth per month (or more) at the size of your fish. Possibly stunted from before you got them. I know you have a big tank and do water changes so that is not the issue. Are the eyes big for their size? If you still have too much current that can also be a cause. (Too hard to get food.) Others argued the point back then but this is exactly what can happen as a result..
Donny@ageofaquariums
Yea I get best growth in low current water too. Fish like to swim and thats great and all...... but swimming burns energy that could be instead used to beefcake up! Fullys are pretty chunk fish tho, so they dont grow as long as quickly, but they do tend to put on more mass in general.
