Waggles
...With pH change up to make my water more alkaline it would seem that most people buy Sodium Bicarbonate to use for this. However, here in the Barossa Valley a famous wine producing region the alternative additive is food grade Potassium Bicarbonate. As far as I can read on this Potassium Bicarbonate is readily dissoluble and only releases potassium into the water - no sodium. You do not need very much like one level teaspoon in a 65 litre tank will change pH from 7.0 to 8.0. I use half teaspoon after a water change to bring pH to 7.5 which is spot on. Potassium Bicarbonate is expensive, but a little goes a long way. Buy POTASSIUM BICARBONATE Online in Australia You can read about Potassium Bicarbonate by doing an internet search and in Wikipedia.
