Amazon Frogbit declared noxious in NSW

New naturalisations for Queensland

These species have not previously been recorded for Queensland.

July 2010 to June 2011

Asystasia gangetica subsp. micrantha (Nees) Ensermu (Acanthaceae)

Begonia hirtella Link. (Begoniaceae)

Indigofera vohemarensis Baill. (Fabaceae)

Limnobium laevigatum (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Heine (Hydrocharitaceae)

Sida ciliaris L. (Malvaceae).

Theres been lots of talk of it being declared noxious in QLD since 2012.

But it hasnt yet.

Few decent threads about it on AL forum.

Likely that the DAFF lost a lot of relevant staff at the last state election which slowed down the machinery on these things.

But now NSW has pulled the trigger on it, likely QLD will follow suit.

NSW is always so progressive when it comes to weed laws lol
