brock
Hey guys, hope everyone had a good Xmas and New Years! Just a few questions.. What is the best way to keep the bacteria alive in my canister filters and the best way to remove sand from the tank so I can transport it to the other house? Anything other tips or tricks would be much appreciated thanks.
brodie7744
Keep a quatar of the canister filter water in the filter its self, sand in a bucket. The sand should keep its moisture for a little while
thatsright99
Save as much water as u can. Do more n more water changes leading up to the move so its not as much as a shock. Empty canister of water but put top on to keep media moist. Use a batt air pump for fish and don't feed them for 3 or so days b4. Leave the sand/gravel to last. If sand just syphon into buckets, gravel use a net to get it out but all the car@p will come out that way.
Bully
How far/long is the move going to take?? Get some cheap 60lt black bins from bunnings or the likes, they come with lids. If need be get a batterie powered air pump, maybe a internal filter will help at new place for when u start the set up again... Some good advice there with not feeding and starting to do water changes now thatsright99 Oh and good luck mate it's always a pain to move tanks but hopefully u should be fine..
