Louiedee05
I've got a goldfish with a problem. It started out as behavioural - erratic swimming, swimming in circles, running into things. This continued for a week. He stopped eating Friday. On Saturday I noticed these wounds on his body. His gill flap has this white erosion on it. He also has a white wound on his lip. All fins are intact, no other fish affected. Water - ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 80 PH 7.1 Any https://vimeo.com/119742299 please excuse the futurama in the background Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Donny@ageofaquariums
Thats a bit strange......... is there a chance its heater burn? I only really say that as I noticed the heater. My guess would be a scrape from an ornament or trying to go through a hole thats too small for the fish. How would the other fish handle you adding some salt? Lictoga
A couple of good water changes this week. A bit of salt or melafix wouldn't hurt as well
Heintz.G
Your water parameters. Water - ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 80 PH 7.1 I don't know much about goldies, but me I'd be looking to get your Nitrates below 20ppm for starters and I thought goldfish prefer a higher Ph of around 7.6. Like Donny said, they are probably knocks and scrapes from the erratic swimming, crashing into ornaments, wood and rocks in the tank.
Louiedee05
Thanks guys. The heater isn't on so it's not that. If it was only a few scales missing and the lip, I'd agree that it was bumps and scrapes (and maybe they are). It's the erosion stuff on the gill that looks off to me. I did a WC after this water test was taken and will do more and add some salt. I'll keep you posted -Lou Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
