danfishy84
Try pellets they are more digestible. You can try starvation or soaking them in garlic?
billfish
Pallets are pretty hard to swallow ,id try pellets hahahahahahahahaa
Lictoga
I'd stop using goldfish as feeders, it's the equivalent of eating nothing but cheese burgers. They are fatty and have no decent amount of vitamins and amino acids. Breed cherry shrimp they are a better food source or try a frozen white bait from a seafood shop (not tweed bait). Also as mentioned starvation and garlic, they will be fine for a week or so with out food
QldMick
cherry shrimp are way to small for 20cm barra that are growing. eating a dead fish is a step closer to eating pellets. dont feed for a week, offer pellets for a few days, if they wont eat them try dead fish/ prawns. from there some people stuff pellets in the dead fish, after that maybe pellets rubbed in fish/prawns. i think its just a matter of patients. Sephiroth
Even though you said the water is fine, a large water change and a salt up always helps to freshen things up a bit.

I figured if the fish aren't sick then the water must be fine, now that i re-read the original post nothing was mentioned about water. See this is why assumptions are bad haha. But what i said still stands.

none
If Barra know they are getting live food they commonly get fussy and refuse the pellet and wait for the live instead. They are not dumb.. This is very common with Barra and natives in general.
mq_camo
They'll come around, be patient. Only offer up what you want the fish to eat. Gotta be stronger and smarter than your fish. Goldfish are a terrible live selection btw
Tristan
Going through this at the mall mebt with my polleni... Been almost 4 weeks with him refusing to eat... I wont give in and give live food though... Only if he was so skinny he was going to die as a last resort... But he still has plenty of bulk to him. Ccbear
I use Ridley pellets and have been feeding mine number 3 and now number 4 as I have none of the smaller ones left. Have Barra between 150 mm and 300 mm. Can you show me photos of your tank and filtration system please or direct me to where you have photos as long as it is not FB. Normally feed 1% of body weight in the aquaponic system but this is my first build just as a aquarium.
