What to put in a 3ft tank

Recommended Posts

Ok so I'm looking at getting another 3ft tank as a display and am wanting just a single fish to put in it and am un decided as what to go with. So I would like some suggestions.

Filtered by canister not going to be dealing with plants on this tank

Some requirements

no Africans, or gold fish,

single or a pair

I already have (in different tanks don't freak out) Red Devils, various vega, toga, polleni, saums, geos, dovii, snooks, l numbers, $$$, pretty much a lot of Americans and other random assortments, as well as some catfish and a planted tropical tank.

so any ideas?

Coal Grunter, Rams (electric blue), purple spot gudgeons, snakehead gudgeon, a pair of discus, electric blue acara, ebjd, a tank full of mixed guppys and see what colors variations you can produce, red severums.

mmmmm cant wait till I got my 3ft empty.

Blue sevs

You have to be kidding - right ?

Adult Sevs get to 300mm + , A 48x18x20 got to be too small for a pair I had a couple of years ago - given clean water and good food they grow fast , and keep growing !

Definitely not suitable for a 3ft tank ( not for long anyway )

Probably a 4x2 or larger required .

Please remember fish are life forms not decorations or toys - they need room to move .

Did I say a pair? no, would be fine for a single fish as op said "a single fish OR a pair" :smash:

Ok guys in regards to getting a bigger tank, I have over 30 tanks and few 6x2x2 so don't freak out if the fish out grows the tank eventually. I'm not going to be putting a large American in this tank, a single sev is the larges that I am considering.

I'm not a fan of festivum, or angles and don't have the time for discus
